Thanks! Looks like Cornfed has a 1/4" version of the top plate also, which combined with the tacogarage plate, is 1/2" total thickness, giving 1" lift. Combined with the Peak 1" pre-load spacer, that should result in 2" total lift with a touch more thread left on the top hat bolts than the 15mm...
It seems the suspension geometry is such that actual front lift is ~2x the thickness of the top hat spacer.
Given that, a Peak 1" preload spacer combined with the 1/4" tacogarage top plate would only give ~1.5" of lift. Not sure why tacogarage claims the top plate gives ~1" of lift. All examples...
I have a trip next week, so I'll report back how the 821s do. My wife is worried it'll ride too stiff. I will say at the current 24.5" height, it's harder us vertically challenged folks to get into the bed. We used to use the tailgate as a seat or table while camping, but now it's almost chest...
You da man Cesar!
I might be slightly below 24.5" after I load a bit more stuff. I'll definitely report back after my trip. Nothing harsh (just a campground), but will get some miles with a lot of weight on it.
Measurement Update!
Just installed the 821 springs, so new measurements are (keep in mind, this is with virtually no driving on them, so not sure if they'll settle just a tiny bit):
Front: 20.5 in (was 20.25 in, so the rear actually raised the front slightly)
Rear: 24.5 in
I'll be taking a...
Thanks for the summary elturco!
I just got off the phone with Dobinsons. Once I said "1000 lbs", he immediately went to the 821. I did mention that folks were running the 819s on 850-900 lb loads and still above stock ride height, but the discussion went to what elturco mentioned, that there's...
Just measured my rear and I'm at 20.25" (and my water tank is mostly empty right now). I'll give Dobinsons a call.
How much are you asking for your 821s?
I have a Tune on a 6ft bed. Weighed in at 600 lbs in scale. I built my kitchen setup, but tried to keep it lightweight. With all the other stuff/gear and water, I estimate I'm ~1000 lbs constant weight, not including passengers.
Based on aggregated data so far, seems like I'd be close to stock...
I have a Tune camper shell in the rear and that with some gear is squatting my truck. On a recent oil change trip to the dealer, it felt like I was bottoming out in the rear going over some speed bumps, even though the rear isn't that low. I'd like to lift up the rear, but not sure what options...
I have a like new Tuff Stuff Alpha roof top tent for sale (I'm in SoCal). I only used it on 2 short weekend trips. Brand new was $3000+tax. Selling for $1500, so less than half. It fits my whole family inside (4), has separately controlled interior and exterior lights, tons of pockets inside...
Hi All. I have a BedRug on order, but unfortunately it's ~4wks lead time and I can't afford to wait that long to start my build (have a camper shell, so building an interior and need to account for the BedRug's added height to the floor). BedRug just lists the overall thickness at 3/4", but...
