Thinking possibly a bad batch of transmissions from AISEN. Hopefully older ones (like mine) and newer ones will not have any issues. Fingers crossed, but at 6K and the trans is as smooth as silk. As mentioned here already, they are assembled in Japan. Final assembly is in Mexico, but the...
They are electric steps. If I ever get situations where I may need rock sliders, I guess I'll change them out. Right now my offroading is mostly dirt and mud since I live in Ohio and there are few places to go. I really like them though. I got them from RoughCountry and they work great...
Hello everyone. I finally installed my Westcott Designs lift. I can say, it's a job! I wanted to let anyone know who is going to do this with a TRD OR to not try to knock off the retaining ring at the bottom of the shock. It is actually threaded. I think they did the video on an SR5.

Because it is a running board on the Pro, not a rock slider. The Pro is built for Baja Racing, the Trailhunter is built for overlanding/rock crawling. Sure the Pro can, just like an SR5 but that's not it's purpose. That said, my hood bounces as well. Probably thin aluminium to cut weight.
I don't know i this is so much a requirement as a way to lower overall emissions and raise fuel economy for the entire line. If it was a requirement, I feel like my TRD OR would have it, and it doesn't.
I got them because I'm about to add a Westcott lift. I can see Toyota blaming the lift on a failure. I don't really expect to have a problem, but it's worth $70 for them not to have an excuse and also possibly get stuck on the side of a mountain.
It’s been great. Right now I am using the suction cup mount, but I designed and printed a hole through mount. I haven’t had time to paint and install it yet. As for warranty, probably not. I think they would warranty the screen in the rearview mirror. But probably not that Camera that I...
I'm going to do that as well... next year. My lift finally shipped from Westcott and I just ordered a set of molle panels for the inside of the bed. My wife may kill me if I buy more stuff for a while.
Yes, you can hear the turbo spool up and sometimes the pressure blow off. This is normal for a Turbo. Could also be exaggerated by the fake engine noise they pump into the cab. I used Calista to shut mine off almost as soon as I bought the truck, so I can't say for sure.
I can't imagine why they wouldn't. They are roughly the same diameter of my tires (285 70/17) and mine don't rub with stock suspension. These are Duratrac RTs
So far, no. I’m assuming since the Trailhunter comes this way that the truck was somehow designed for that to work out OK. I even have a cap on the back of my truck and after driving for a while I stopped and checked, and there was no exhaust fumes in there either.
