I took last option and bought the Trailhunter! OEM compressor has some nice features. You can preset several inflation and deflation values so you don't have to monitor it. I haven't tried it yet, so we'll see...
Since the oem is supposed to be the bakflip mx4, I found these installation instructions here:
https://shop.tonneaucovered.com/bakflip-mx4-install/
EDIT - these instructions do not appear to address the 2024!!!!!
There's one with the basic instructions and an addendum for the Tacoma. I...
Not going to belittle the semantics of it. I had a Puma in my Landcruiser that had a small tank. It took the same amount of time to inflate a 33" tire, so I'm fine with this, tank or not. ?
Picked up a Trailhunter and removing the ARB rack behind the cab in favor of a hard tonneau cover. Toyota wants $1450 for this if you can find one. $1200 OBO located in Orange County CA. Will fit 4th gen.
Hose supplied has a nipple that screws onto the shrader valve. No attachment to put a blow nipple on. Booklet says it'll inflate a tire in 2-3 minutes depending on how deflated it was. Compressor can be set with several inflation AND deflation values. I'll be curious to test deflation time...

Well, that's how the largest dealer in the nation, Longo Toyota here in Socal does business. They have a 2 year waitlist on the Trailhunter. I couldn't even get my name on it as they stopped taking names!!!
For those of you that have installed the oem tonneau cover, do your trucks have the bed rail on the front of the bed? Does it just stay as installed or does it move down too?
I agree. I'm ocd enough to want to measure thus Trailhunter bed length and width against a regular off road or Sport. My gut says they are the same, but blazing new ground with the Trailhunter trim, I wantcto be sure before dropping $$ on the tonneau cover.
Ok, pics of how the Trailhunter ARB bar bolts into the factory rails. I'm inclined to just remove the bar in favor of the oem tonneau cover. The one thing, and only thing I think Toyota overlooked for offroaders was secure storage for camping gear. Anything now available means removal of the...
