Good arguments for getting the MAX, and I think it's a 2400 watt inverter, and 18" wheels as opposed to 17" on the OR I Force Max vs I Force, so the bigger tires will probably have about the same height in rubber, so either should air down OK. I think, but I could be wrong.
Probably this summer, and as Nuke said, it's the same engine, just an addition of the battery/hybrid system. I also wonder how much the additional weight will detract from mpg? I'm going I Force, not Max, doing a rear seat delete, and giving my 100 lb Pittie/Mastiff a lot more room!
What's your definition of "better"? If better means you want/need to go faster quicker, maybe get a couple of MPG better, and a 2400 watt inverter instead of 400, go hybrid; if not, save the probably $3,000 for a simpler, but still totally great Taco! And $3,000 buys a lot of gas!
This is for the short bed only, and the accessories section on the configurator no longer has the long bed mat, which was $200. They just started shipping new Tacos and they're already deleting accessories; anybody know why?
In one place on the configurator it says the 2024 Taco Off Road has 17" wheels, in a different one it says 18" wheels, so who knows what tires you'll get!
Just noticed that you're in CO, and I lived there from '89 to '21 when I retired from the gym in Woodland Park. Lived in Florissant at 9200', and the winters were just getting to be too much for me! Hope you see the above!
What a good boy!!! Sorry that he's no longer able to travel, and you're good people for fostering/adopting big dogs, and I've only ever "parented" big dogs (I'm 5'4", 135 lbs, and 70 years old, but can still lift Scooby into The Hulk; I'm a retired personal trainer and Spinning instructor, so...
Wow, that's impressive, and you can't beat the weight of the Yoshino! I would prefer the IForce Max, but my dog needs all the room in the back seat area as possible (I'm going to delete the rear seats and build a platform for him), and I'm not sure that it'll be worth the (probably) extra $3000...
Glad that it's working well for you, and I assume those Renogy's are 150 watt panels, since the Yoshino only allows 600 watts max solar input, but it's pretty rare to get 100% from panels, so maybe 160 or 170's. I should have picked one up when they were on sale for $1300 off; maybe next year...
My only problem with wedge-style canopy toppers is the access (my 100 lb Pittie/Mastiff likes to sleep near me...well, on top of me, when we overland) and that it's harder to walk around/do much inside the truck bed when they're deployed. I use 3ea 200 watt folding portable panels, so instead of...
Have you checked out the Tune M1; it's a really nice looking unit and you can sleep East/West, so it's going on my Taco 6' Off Road as soon as I find one that meets, or at least comes close, to my options.
