It's definitely a short bed; the long bed has the extra foot between the read of the cab and the front of the fender flare.

Pretty impressive, and those are not the best tires and are considered "On-Road All Terrain Tires", and they took a distant third to Falken WildPeak A/T Trail and Nitto Nomad Grappler tires in Tire Rack's test.
