I am interested on the rear springs.
I am totally ignorant of these mods, so bear with my questions here.
1-What is the benefit of these springs? is it to allow heavier cargo?
2-Does installation require modification or any mechanic can do it?
Thanks a lot for your help.
Gaston
I agree Mr. Harry, but it is getting better now and some folk are giving tips and advice.
As for the argument, its human nature, we all do it and it is a pain but, so it goes!
You are referring to "civilized" parts of Tx.
Thy driving in Utah, southwestern NM, or 200+ miles Transamerica trails with an 18.2 gallon tank.
I don't think so.
PS: I did not know Padre Island was available for overlanding. Did you start at Padre Island town?
I have not changed the tires. I am a fanatic about tire pressure and check it often.
Out West, there are plenty of stretches where the next gas station is 90 miles, even 110 at some places.
Not all are advertised with the "next gas, stc" signs, so trust me, 18.2 gallons are not enough .
I find...
Thanks a million, Bigd, this is the place.
I wrote my name on the waiting list and specified Trailhunter.
Everybody is different and we all drive differently. My experience is that once you load the truck for an adventure and then start the trail in 4wd you will be doing , maybe, 13 mpg...
Thanks, that's what I am looking for here: Ideas on how to solve the problem.
I love the truck, I think it is all I wanted, but I can't run out of fuel in the middle of nowhere.
Again, thanks, it looks good.
I totally agree, I understand my driving habits are anathema for good milege BUT, even driving conservatively, like Mr Jesus above, it is way below the advertised mileage.
Yes, it was calculated according to the Gvmt. regs but: IT SUCKS
Politics do not belong on these forums but avoiding it is difficult.
Most highways have a 75 mph speed limit, and 2-lane rural roads are usually 55mph
The government is 40 years behind on this, and it allows the car companies to publish fallacious gas consumption figures like the Traihunter.
A...
I have the 24 Trailhunter and I use it both with the windows up and sometimes down.
I am a classical and Jazz music fan and have not modified the stock stereo system
With no music on, I barely hear the snorkeler; with the music on, not a peep.
The glass used on the Trailhunter is a nice...
I do not doubt your much better mileage, but I am simply unable to drive 12 hours at 63mph average.
I know its stupid, but I just cant, I do 75 to 85, averaging about 70 over long, 680-mile drives, Austin to Raton, NM, for example
You are a cautious, normal driver and I am a crazy one, but a...
1 mile=1.61Km
1 US gallon=3.854 litres
So, in km per liter, they use 100Km
It will take 22 liters per 100km BUT, I am not a great mathematirian so double check
After about 4K miles, most of it on HWY driving, I find it quite hard to go more than 14mpg, normally it is below that.
Out West there are long, 75+ stretches of no gas availability and, when I start doing Overlanding I am sure the gas mileage will be around 12.
Does anyone have any ideas on...
I think this is quite silly.
I have a trailhunter and can not go out and take a look since I am out of town BUT, no alternator no charging.
It has to have one Dude.
I left mine 2 months in storage and it started in 2 seconds when I returned.
Thanks for the info. I removed the ARB and installed a Diamonback, which is a perfect fit.
My question is : Where did you sell it; How did you advertise and how much shall I ask for it?
Thanks a lot
Gaston
It is time to wake up!!!!!!!!!!
Who takes folk in the back?
I only put my hunting stuff there, the rifles secure with the seatbelts or, when on a photo Safari out west, the camera equipment.
When I take the old lady, she sits with me out front. If I take friends (once in 15 years) I pull my seat...
