In reality all these trucks are already hot and look great from the factory. So leaving it alone or changing it are both cool.
But that front grill looks really nice and I am sure that a lot of 4th gen owners will be making that change.
What model year it is only really matters if you plan to sell it quickly. Most hard core Taco fans keep their trucks for a long while, which is why quality and dependability are important to us.
And yes, I know there have been issues, but I still trust Toyota to build me the best midsize out...
That part number decodes to a bumper plug in Toyota's database. You can buy it from them for about $9, so that could help pay for your cool new truck. ;-)
Yep - sequential shifting is the smart move with any transmission, although I sometimes skip 3rd in my car when running up through the gears if I am already at speed. Luckily that will not damage anything if you mess that up.
The video I reference showed a couple of things that could contribute...
@Sandeep1994 that is a good point about that truck not hitting redline, which definitely would have happened if he had gone into 1st gear.
How does the tranny stop you from going into first gear? I don't doubt what you said about the transmission not allowing that, since you are an owner. But...
I think they tried to shift from 5th to 3rd and snagged 1st instead. A classic money shift that will trash any engine or drivetrain. I saw another video showing how close the gates are on that manual and how easy it would be grab 1st when trying for 3rd. If the clutch had not grenaded it would...
My 5.7 liter Tundra has a TRD true dual exhaust, and it makes some pretty fine sounds of its own.
A lot of people are whining about losing the V6, and I am moving from a glorious V8 to a I4. The Taco hybrid is an engine for today and a fine example of an ICE which I will be proud to own, but it...
I thought that you might be settling for the non-hybrid, since a hybrid is what you wanted originally, right?
Some people probably don't really care, but I know just from the specs that the hybrid is what I want. There is nothing wrong with the base engine, but I am a performance oriented guy...
Giving us more seat choices could come along later. Toyota no doubt wants to keep things as simple as possible during the first year of production, but that is something that could easily change.
Cool picture of the two Toyota trucks.
For me the Pro is the perfect size, although it is tall. But I have a Tundra that won't fit in my garage and the new one is even larger. To me the midsize is big enough without being as oversized as a full size truck has become
@sugammadex with you on...

I had read that they all come at setting 2 and I am just passing along what Sheldon Brown said. In a video he was asked that specific question and said that he prefers setting 1 for on road. It is nice we can play around with that and get exactly what we want.
I have found that since TPMS most vehicles leave the dealership with over or way over inflated tire pressure. Clueless owners will freak when the low tire pressure comes on and this way it will never happen. Of course you are right @entropy - that makes the ride much harder than it needs to be...
Sheldon Brown commented that the best Fox shock setting for the road was 1. He then said you could dial it up to 2 or 3 depending on how you were going to use the truck off road.
I look forward to playing with those seats, and I will just start at what is recommended for my size. Then I can see...
Wow - Sheehy is a tough sell. I found a dealer where I am getting my PRO selling at MSRP and with Virginia's 4% sales it should be around $70k out the door. Hard to believe that is a deal on a midsize these days, but I think it is. If I spent $82k I couldn't afford to do all the things I have...
I have watched videos of Pros shot from the driver's perspective while driving fast off road. Now that I think about it, none of them showed any visible hood shake.
If Toyota can make the press car's hoods not shake, then they should be able to do that for those of us paying the bills.
I have seen hood shake complaints on 4th gens with and without the hood scoop. I have seen complaints from some OR owner and also SR5s. That makes me wonder if it is an assembly issue, and not the scoop. Here is a complaint about that on an OR...
Congrats @BaronVonWolfenheiser. That is a beautiful truck.
I look forward to hearing what you think about it after you have some time with it. That is the first Pro I have seen with a front plate. which I will have to run with also.
