You got the deal you got, at the time you got it. I agree with others - you can't look back. First, because you'll only serve you drive yourself crazy. But second, you'll never know what else could have happened because your situation was unique to all the parameters. Exact time, day...
Oh boy, this is exactly what we needed!
Later pages in the section you shared refer to the camera system as the "Circumference Monitoring Camera Control Module", and the whole section days nothing about needing to calibrate any other systems on the truck. I'd wager that it's safe to perform the...
That's what we're trying to figure out.
Originally, the Circumference Monitoring System was just the Sonar parking sensors. Now it also includes the cameras (for things like Pedestrian detection), which is why the systems are linked.
Negative, that's not a caveat. That's a sign that you can't access the function again. ?
(Just giving you some flak)
The caveats are that you need to recalibrate the Circumference Monitoring System in order to access the Diagnostic Menu camera adjustment again, or do everything through Global...
I've used my old-style basic spring compressors on IFS Toyota suspension, and it's always a little risky. They take quite a bit of force to compress the 600-700 lb/in springs. But it's always worked for me.
Another option is a basic hydraulic press. Put the shaft of the shock down through the...
For those who have done the Camera Adjustment in the diagnostic menu, and now have it greyed out...
Can you check what shows under the "Camera Detection Setting" on that same menu?
I believe that the "Circumference Monitoring System" is camera-based, and *maybe* there's something in there for...
I'll second this.
@tacogarage - can you please post the specs for the LCA bolts? I just ordered your strut mount plate spacers so I'll need that spec soon! Thank you!
I highly doubt this is true. Toyota had the exhaust dump installed on the Trailhunter even on the press release trucks, so that OEM part was designed and produced in early 2023.
And I agree with others - hijacking this post is definitely sleazy self-promotion.
For sure. There is probably a 99.9% chance that you'll be fine, and the tool will have zero issues. Probably even better odds with Carista. But not 100%.
My motivation to post that was to make people aware that it's not completely risk-free. The slim chance of a bad outcome could result in a...
Something to keep in mind for units like this...
These tools have the ability to read/write coding to your ECU, TCU, BCMs, Infotainment units, etc.
This means that they have the ability to write incorrect codes, or fail during a write, which could result in dash lights for malfunctioning...

Something that might be worth adding, or linking to...
I took these pics of all three fuse panel lids for myself to reference, since I could not seem to find fuse diagrams anywhere online and the Owner's Manual doesn't have them either.

Oh man... Good old BFGs.
That company still can't seem to figure out how to measure a tire, and manufacture a tire that's accurate to size specifications. Their tires are consistently smaller than specified, and noticably smaller than other brand tires in the exact same size.
Contrast that...
Yeah, I forgot to mention E-rated tires...
LT275/70R17 is also available in many E-rated options. I don't like E-rated tires on any truck that's not a fullsize, or weighs more than ~6k lb (such as an 80-series Land cruiser). It's almost impossible to find a tire pressure that let's an E-rated...
Thank you, I agree 100%. I'm super happy with how the tire and wheel combo worked out.
10mm wider on the tire and 20mm less wheel offset, resulting in 25mm more "poke" than stock, made a perfect change to the stance of the truck. And the ~12-13mm tire diameter increase was enough to notice, but...
Ran across these pics from my install of the Trailhunter skid plates...
What came on my TRD:
Not bad, and probably adequate for 90% of truck owners. But we can do better...
That's more like it:
Install was super easy with just a pair of Rhino Ramps and one socket. 30min at most. I...
