That’s awesome glad you like your truck. The turbo charger is spun by the exhaust gases and the other side of shaft is another impeller that forces air into the engine giving a small engine more power.
Some things your better off not jumping to conclusions. I would wipe it first and determine the smell the viscosity “texture”. Then I would smell it. If all checks out and it doesn’t smell or feel like oil I would spray brake clean wipe it away and move on and completely avoid the dealer fiasco...
Its assembly lube guarantee it. My 3rd gen was the same way and I’ve seen numerous Tundra threads of the same thing. Wipe it with his finger and I guarantee it will be a sticky substance like grease and not thin like oil. It’s lube heating up and creeping down. Also I bet it won’t smell like...
3rd gens were same way. It’s asssembly lube for sure. Wipe the residue with your finger I guarantee you it’ll be real sticky feeling and not like oil. My 3rd gen was the same way, so was a part of the steering rack. Wiped both spots and they were sticky and didn’t smell like oil. It’s assembly...
Around town driving mixed with different rpm speeds and mph is the best for break in luckily where I live going to work give me that perfect situtation for the first 1k miles
Your correct Guanajuato(3ty) is where all the cracked evap trucks are coming from. My tailgate is fine too good enough. I have a slightly warped cowl panel too but so did my 3rd gens . I don’t have any vibration when the a/c is on although I can “feel” it when the compressor comes on and off...
Intersting mines a 3/24 build 3ty . Yes but 2 different factories in Mexico. 3ty is Guanajuato and 3tm is Baja . The cracked evap cases only seem to be from the 3ty factory. No leaks on mine but haven’t visually looked at the box
The Toyota genuine oil is NOT Mobil 1. It is formulated specifically for Toyota to Toyotas standards with a special additive package. It has a ridiculous amount of moly which protects against wear. There are plenty of credible sources out there to get this information mostly from oil analysis
My truck was built March 15 at the Guanajuato plant. It arrived at the dealer sometime mid April according to all the build info and info the dealer gave me and sat on the lot until June 28th when I bought it
Honestly I don’t even wanna look lol I’m way to ocd. If it’s not dripping I’m gonna assume it’s good. My 3rd gen ownership was nightmares from focusing on things to hard im trying to just go with the flow on my 4th gen while staying informed but not going out of my way to look for problems lol...
How wide spread is this occurrence? Any idea how many are affected? Like I said I’ve driven few weeks now every day with a/c I’d think if it was cracked I’d see a leak by now and nada . Im not worried about honestly in my opinion if it was gonna leak it would have already
