I took my TRD OR on a 130 mile overlanding trip last year and brought along extra fuel just in case. I left the trail with just under 1/2 tank. I was surprised at how good the fuel mileage was.
You’re compromising occupant safety if your vehicle gets into a front end collision. Those small crash pads have a load of safety engineering behind them.
That’s crazy low fuel mileage. A full size 450HP V6 Ford Raptor easily gets 15 mpg.
With aftermarket 8.5” X 17” Method wheels and 275/70/17 tires my TRD OR is getting 18mpg.
