I think it having no resonator might have something to do with the SR’s having leaf springs. At our dealer we found out that the TRD exhaust system is not compatible on models that have the rear leaf springs as the leaf springs interfere with the rear tail pipe. Possibly there wasn’t room to fit...
My camera doesn’t get blocked with the OEM tonneau cover folded all the way up, even with the prop rods holding it. I think it mainly happens if the tonneau cover is mounted too close against the back of the cab so that when it’s folded back it stands too vertically and blocks the camera.
Maybe it’s to give people more of a reason to buy the Limited in Canada, since the premium package only comes in the short beds up there, it probably competes too closely to it. Thats the whole reason I bought the spec I bought, It has essentially all the features luxury features of the Limited...
It may have something to do with Hawaii. The Toyota dealerships in Hawaii go through Toyota Japan, while the Toyota dealers on the mainland go through Toyota USA.
In Hawaii, the majority I see are 5’ bed’s. Though it seems that this generation, a lot more people are opting for the 6’ bed’s compared to the last gen Tacoma.
To me it’s the perfect ratio of interior space, bed space, and overall size. The interior space is big enough for 2 people and if needed 2 or 3 rear seat passengers, you get a 6’ bed (also helps that I got the bed extender which can make it a 7‘ or 8’ bed if needed), and it’s in a package that...
Thanks, I felt it was best to get the long bed now in the event that Toyota eventually decides to discontinue them. It also helps that this generation, the long bed look a lot more proportional to me than the short bed.
Thanks bro, not sure why Canada would limit the premiums to only 5’. I also seen that for the Canadian premiums, they also remove the Power Tailgate feature from them, is that true?
Me too, I’m hoping one day they either bring Blueprint over to the Tacoma and 4Runner, or they bring back one of the past blue’s. Maybe Speedway Blue Pearl, Indigo Ink Pearl, Nautical Blue Metallic, Blue Ribbon Metallic, or Blazing Blue Pearl.
Everyone in Hawaii does everything they can to keep their Tacoma‘s alive. No matter the age, mileage, or condition, you’ll be surprised how many requests I get at the parts counter asking for parts for ones from the 80’s and 90’s. Makes it difficult when Toyota discontinued a lot of the parts...
That’s the Hawaii way, the Tacoma and the 4Runner has been the #1 and #2 best selling vehicles in Hawaii for decades. You’ll see 4Runner‘s and Tacoma’s being used for everything; Police vehicles, City & County vehicles, Pest Control, Security, News Vehicles, Construction, Landscaping, etc. They...
DUB is the only company today that still makes brand new spinners. They have to custom forge them and the smallest they currently make them are 24”. Those start at like $2,150 a wheel. These were those old bolt-on ones from the 2000’s where you had to use 3 special lug nuts per wheel and pray...
Went through many phases with my 4Runner before finally finding the right look. It definitely showed which era I’m still stuck in. This may have some influence in what I do with my Tacoma. It’ll definitely be unique.
I still have it and drive it, A 2019 4Runner SR5. It was my first vehicle and was fortunate enough to be able to keep it once I got my Tacoma. Bought it brand new in 2019 once I started working for Toyota and was able to use my employee discount to get a good deal on it. Many modifications have...
After 8 months of scrolling through the forum, and another 7 months of driving it, I have finally created an account. I ordered a “Blue Crush TRD Off Road Premium Long Bed” back in January of 2025 and took delivery in August of 2025. Was worried 6 months in as I knew the 2026’s were going to be...
