  1. Talk me out of this!

Normally I would say if you like your current truck and it fits your needs, why would you want to trade it? But, if you can essentially break even (like you said you could), just get the truck you want. I personally love Wave Maker and have thought about wrapping a truck to get it on a non-pro.
  2. New Light Output Video: See the 2024+ Tacoma 30" PRO After Dark

That's a helpful video. Thank you.
  3. New Light Output Video: See the 2024+ Tacoma 30" PRO After Dark

I might have missed it, but I haven't seen anything comparing your different offerings to each other. How about pictures (or a video I guess) comparing the light output of the 30" slim to the 30" pro? Or the 12" light bars to the two 30" light bars? Also, your videos show the difference...
  4. Long Range America Fuel Tank on 4th Gen Tacoma

Will they install on an OR-registered vehicle? It's still a CARB state.
  5. Long Range America Fuel Tank on 4th Gen Tacoma

If you exchanged your license plate with a "tag applied for" piece of paper just for the install, how would they know it's a CA-registered vehicle? "I have a [cabin, vacation home] in [non-CARB state]; I've changed the registration to that address and am awaiting my new vanity plates" etc etc.
  6. 2027 Tacoma TRD Pro in Honeycomb color -- first photos

Maybe if I was running a taxi service.
  7. Option to mount 40”+ light bar WITHOUT Roof rack

Also disclosed under Fitment Notes on the shared yota xpedition link.
  8. SXTH Charge Pipe Failure on the Trail

Which is a fair take. That is one of the things Banks called out on the SXTH design, and that's what failed in the original trail report. It's a cheap fix if you already own the SXTH. However, given this is an exact failure mode Banks pointed out, it makes me wonder if the larger design...
  9. SXTH Charge Pipe Failure on the Trail

I read this Banks response to SXTH ad just a couple days ago. I have no experience with @Banks Power , but reading that and your story leads me to their products.
  10. Beware of this company

"Buy from an established North American company" is very different than "Buy American made". I wouldn't buy a Toyota if I had to import them from Japan just like I wouldn't buy BYD if I was looking for an all-electric. Toyota has an established American presence; that greatly reduces the...
  11. Beware of this company

In general I do, too. At a bare minimum, I buy from an established North American company (not just a PO box) even if manufacturing and assembly are overseas (you simply can't avoid it in some products). It at least gives you better QC, which is the biggest issue dealing with the factories /...
  12. Overlanding trip became a struggle

You can get some cheap, effective sand/snow stakes on Amazon; I've backpacked in some pretty strong wind using those. There are also bags that work pretty well (you fill the bag with sand/snow/rocks). You could just put heavy things in your tent (like your tools/water), but that doesn't help...
  13. Overlanding trip became a struggle

Did you not stake your tent?
  14. Tacoma 2024+ RGB Interior Ambient Light Kit With App Control

They're just quoting the color combos in standard 24-bit RGB. But, to answer your question, most sources will say around 10 million for normal human vision, and that is not a perfect subset of the 16.7 million possible colors we electronically produce (i.e. we see greens that aren't producible...
  15. Add fuel door release?

Not just that, but with fuel tanks going from metal to plastics, fuel thieves just punch a hole in the tank. Way faster and less-noticeable to passers by.
  16. Looking to upsize battery- Non- Hybrid TRD OR

Yes, but I was specifically replying to Costco's Interstate batteries. Their price is good but warranty is crap (three years, prorated). I go with Walmart batteries because of their warranty and there's always a Walmart close by in the US.
  17. Road Trip! Western US

Don't forget the reduced aerodynamics. I had a Jeep, and whenever I put my paddle board on top of it, I lost 1-2mpg. Worst was when I put a paddle board on top of my roof top tent; I was 4-5mpg less than nothing on the roof (the board and tent were about 100lbs total, so it wasn't the weight).
  18. Tracker installed by dealer

I'm sure their customer claims work on many, if not the majority of, people, but they actively turn me away from dealers that do this. Just like getting a recall performed does not give the dealership permission to send me 2-3 letters a month.
  19. 24 Tacoma trd off road suspension on my 25 SR Tacoma

I read it as you wanted to change your leafs out for coils (full suspension change) until I took a second look at the picture and saw there is only 1 set of springs . That makes a lot more sense.
  20. Looking to upsize battery- Non- Hybrid TRD OR

At least by me, their warranty is prorated. Even if it isn't, at 36mo it's pretty short compared to other batteries I've looked at.
