  1. SXTH Charge Pipe Failure on the Trail

I read this Banks response to SXTH ad just a couple days ago. I have no experience with @Banks Power , but reading that and your story leads me to their products.
  2. Beware of this company

"Buy from an established North American company" is very different than "Buy American made". I wouldn't buy a Toyota if I had to import them from Japan just like I wouldn't buy BYD if I was looking for an all-electric. Toyota has an established American presence; that greatly reduces the...
  3. Beware of this company

In general I do, too. At a bare minimum, I buy from an established North American company (not just a PO box) even if manufacturing and assembly are overseas (you simply can't avoid it in some products). It at least gives you better QC, which is the biggest issue dealing with the factories /...
  4. Overlanding trip became a struggle

You can get some cheap, effective sand/snow stakes on Amazon; I've backpacked in some pretty strong wind using those. There are also bags that work pretty well (you fill the bag with sand/snow/rocks). You could just put heavy things in your tent (like your tools/water), but that doesn't help...
  5. Overlanding trip became a struggle

Did you not stake your tent?
  6. Tacoma 2024+ RGB Interior Ambient Light Kit With App Control

They're just quoting the color combos in standard 24-bit RGB. But, to answer your question, most sources will say around 10 million for normal human vision, and that is not a perfect subset of the 16.7 million possible colors we electronically produce (i.e. we see greens that aren't producible...
  7. Add fuel door release?

Not just that, but with fuel tanks going from metal to plastics, fuel thieves just punch a hole in the tank. Way faster and less-noticeable to passers by.
  8. Looking to upsize battery- Non- Hybrid TRD OR

Yes, but I was specifically replying to Costco's Interstate batteries. Their price is good but warranty is crap (three years, prorated). I go with Walmart batteries because of their warranty and there's always a Walmart close by in the US.
  9. Road Trip! Western US

Don't forget the reduced aerodynamics. I had a Jeep, and whenever I put my paddle board on top of it, I lost 1-2mpg. Worst was when I put a paddle board on top of my roof top tent; I was 4-5mpg less than nothing on the roof (the board and tent were about 100lbs total, so it wasn't the weight).
  10. Tracker installed by dealer

I'm sure their customer claims work on many, if not the majority of, people, but they actively turn me away from dealers that do this. Just like getting a recall performed does not give the dealership permission to send me 2-3 letters a month.
  11. 24 Tacoma trd off road suspension on my 25 SR Tacoma

I read it as you wanted to change your leafs out for coils (full suspension change) until I took a second look at the picture and saw there is only 1 set of springs . That makes a lot more sense.
  12. Looking to upsize battery- Non- Hybrid TRD OR

At least by me, their warranty is prorated. Even if it isn't, at 36mo it's pretty short compared to other batteries I've looked at.
  13. Should I buy a Tacoma? Coming from a sports car

I've thought about that. The next-closest dealer is 360 miles away, but they're owned by the same company and typically mark all their trucks above SRP. The next after that is 700 miles away, but they're in Canada and I have no clue about buying a car in Canada for US registration. In order to...
  14. Should I buy a Tacoma? Coming from a sports car

Damn. The (single) dealership (within 250 miles of me) wanted $43,500 for a base 24 TRD OR with 34K miles. Right now I can save $2300 on a 25 TRD Sport with 13,600 miles.
  15. Washington TRD Pro wheels / 35x11.5x18 Falken wildpeak AT4's

Take advantage of the deal. The LRA 33gal tank is getting close to release, so mpg problem solved!
  16. Michelin Member Product Testing, 2 Spots Available

    1. 2026 Tacoma OR 2. Double Cab, 4 Door 3. 6ft Bed 4. Gas
  17. A/T Tires Review: Pirelli Scorpion XTM AT, Nokian Outpost NAT, BFG KO3, Westlake SL369, Wrangler Duratrac RT, Wildpeak AT4, Recon Grappler

Too bad they didn't include MT Baja Boss. A different comparison test had them as the best non-winter tire on snow.
  18. Should I buy a Tacoma? Coming from a sports car

You might consider test driving some of the other mid-sized trucks and see which you prefer. Even if you come back to the Tacoma, you'll know you made the right decision. If you aren't going to use the off-road features, you might consider saving a bit with a different trim. In and out of...
  19. My First DIY Chase / Light bar / Whip / Antenna / Accessory Mount

I have no need of them myself. However, I like the idea—low profile, simple, functional, someone's logo isn't cut into it—, and love the DIY attitude. Nice shoutout SendCutSend for this type of thing.
  20. disabling DCM / telematics in 2025 Taco

It's not the DCM/telematics that's displaying that. Pull the fuse if you want to check.
