I think we have to remember that even some "American" companies establish their production overseas and it's that company that set the quality targets not the actual folks manufacturing the product. In other words, sometimes it's not about where it is produced, but the company calling the shots...
I second the bed mat. The composite bed is great, but it's an ice skating rink without the mat.
And spend a few extra bucks on an OEM mat. My experience with aftermarket ones as been mixed.
Totally fine with the order, but not the product that will probably turn to dust in a few weeks...LOL.
That's definitely shitty on for them to be so deceptive. Thanks for the heads-up. It might help others.
Correct. But that thread mentions the other company. It doesn't appear to be the same tactic. Just the typical cheap Amazon junk. I just saw "sponsor" and thought nothing of it
Ugh, I just ordered from one of them a few hours ago. Hopefully it's legit. I guess I didn't think too much about. It just seems to be a typical cheap Amazon type seller/item.

Yeah, I saw the Cali Raised one after the fact. Not that much more either. I've ordered from them in the past. Good quality stuff. Should have thought of them before ordering. At least it's not much money.
I'll post up some pix when I get and after installation. I have this little voice in the...
I have a friend who spent some time at the San Antonio plant many years ago. He said they had some kind of rotating shift where the employees spent a few weeks on first shift then rotated to second shift for a few weeks. He said people seemed like walking zombies. I wouldn't think that would be...
Temp is very important. Back in 2017, when Toyota introduced the first Dynamic Force engine (A25A) lots of people freaked out when they saw the 0w16 recommendation. But fast forward nearly a decade, and you have Camrys and RAV4s running around with 200k on them. 0w16 is a thin oil. But when your...
Oh definitely. There are "light" and "heavy" KV100 scores on all grades. I just meant from a practical stand point, it would tough to measure a big difference in performance between a 0w20 and a 5w20 given that they will both perform as 20's at operating temperature.
An argument could be made...
Also, from everything I've read over the years, as long as it's under 250° 0w20 can handle that....assuming it's in grade. But in your case, with larger and I'm sure heavier tires, I think I too would run 5w30, though it sounds like you're running 0w/5w40.
Both 0w20 and 5w20 will behave almost identically at operating temperatures. That said, it's good to see you are seeing 200° oil temps. Can I ask how you are measuring it?
Finally a break in the weather. Got the Water Company truck cleaned up inside and out. She's definitely taller than my 2nd and 3rd gen rigs. The step made life way easier to get up into the bed and dry off the roof.
