Congrats and welcome. I wouldn't sweat the 4WD system issue. I'm sure the truck is fine. As for the oil change thing, well perhaps you might have come across one of my posts. I'm pretty anal about oil changes, especially early on in a motors life. Just because I'm crazy about oil changes means...
That's unfortunate, I'm sorry to hear that. I dont want to bash Toyota specifically, but as a whole it sure seems that quality across all manufacturers has dropped, significantly. I'm pretty sure cost savings are applied across manufacturing processes, everywhere and anywhere possible. After all...
If were taking about the same thing, I believe that's the fuel injectors, but dont hold me to it, but that's my feeling. I have noticed as I have accumulated more miles on the truck now, that sound I believe your referring to has diminished quite a bit. Although I'm typically not "into the...
I'll throw my two cents in for color. Mine is under the TSB, although the tranny has been behaving well for me with about 18.5k on the truck now. I have noticed that this tranny seems to shift, well -- not rough, but a little heavy when the tranny is cold. Once warmed it's a smooth as glass...
Thanks for your observation @james cole. Appreciate the update. I was wondering the differences myself. Not that I know much other than a handful of Toyotas I owned in the late 90's, I've not had any other experiences since so I was curious. I owned a '96 Tacoma with that 4.3 v6 and 5 speed...
Mine is ice cold, and I live in phoenix to boot. I can say for sure it has worked beautifully for the last year. It's first summer with me (last May) we had 118 degrees for over 100 days, and it was fine the entire time. Worth a visit to the dealer.
It's an odd storage cubby. I keep alcohol wipes for my glasses in there. Not sure what else to do with it. I also got a strange cubby on the dash where I guess the factory trailer brake controller sits. Since I dont have that I have a little useless box in its absence.
I'd love it if the mirrors, especially the passenger would articulate down when throwing it in reverse. My old BMW cars would do that, found it a very useful feature. Especially since I apparently have an affinity to back into spaces.
Watching that Toyota mechanic on YouTube, "car care nut". He was reviewing the '25 4Runner and while discussing the hybrid system he stated that all of these vehicles have alternators even the hybrids. He described a situation, perhaps in the future if the hybrid system ever fails, the truck...
Yea confirmed. Mine didn't come with it, but I subscribed with it for a month. Useful, but so is my phone. Didn't prefer to get rung up eery month for a useless feature, so canceled it.
Wouldn't worry so much on that. I dont Offroad much, although I have many vast deserts around me in which to do so, but at least once a month when I know I'm gonna be driving straight for a few miles or more, I'll flip on the 4 by system just to keep things "exercised" I've noticed the front...
Lets face it the manufacturers make automobiles to be obsolete as soon as possible. Why do you think your plopping down $1300 for a new washer, and another $900 or so for a new dryer every 4 or 5 years, or perhaps less in some cases. Granted, I'm not hating on my truck at all, but in Toyota's...
Yes, but that trans cooler in the bottom of the radiator (like on my '04 Xterra which liked to make strawberry milkshakes in those days cuz they didn't seal the transmission portion from the water of the radiator) is more passive to me -- I'd like to see an active cooler which has a fan, similar...
I'd be curious to know myself, but it appears to not have a trans-cooler. Again, I haven't been keeping up on stuff, but my last vehicle, '21 Silverado with the lovely self destructing 6.2 had the tow package, but no trans cooler. Prior to that a '20 Silverado with I-6 Baby Duramax, again with...
If I had to guess, it's likely the result of no transmission cooler. While I've not researched this first hand, I've noticed in the last 10 years of vehicle purchases that even though you'll have all of the "tow" upgrades selected, the manufacturers are not installing transmission coolers on...
Mine has both that rear brake thing, plus it's in in the range of VIN's regarding the Tranny swap out. But honestly mines been behaving fine sitting @ 16.5k miles now. I will take it in @ the 20K mark and pick up my 2nd free oil change, tire rotation, and have them fix the rear brake issue if...
Yea, I have that wheel one. Im honestly not interested in fixing it since I dont Offroad in mud. That said, I will take it in for the 20k second (free) service and let them remedy wheel issue.
I tend to run premium in my when on trips, although not required of course, but prefer it for some reason. That said, like most vehicles, wind, road surface (tire friction) are going to be the biggest detriments to fuel milage. I noticed this back in October when I did a 5K trip from the west to...
I think the frame stiffness, especially the amount of flex in the outgoing Tacoma, vs the new generation has been shown on a few videos on YouBoob as an fyi. In fact, from what I watched, the frame is quite strong. Fully boxed, vs C-Channel on the outgoing model.
