Just replaced my rear pads at 31,000 miles. Down to 15%. Fronts look almost new.
My guess would be the proactive drive assist function uses rear brakes instead of front so you don’t feel nose dive when it activates to slow the vehicle.
Newborns and the rear facing car seats most likely will not fit. The car seat base itself is already pretty big. Then you have to factor the actual seat that sits on top of the latched in base. Diaper bag and wife probably will go in back seat at least for a bit to keep eye on baby.
