You’re not going to gain much by swapping trucks. Definitely less rear leg space and underseat storage. The raised rear seat might be ok depending on how old your kids are but the rear leg space is going to make it really uncomfortable for your kids on any long trips.
Ok I looked into what BMW eco pro does and it appears my 535 ran 215 degree f in normal and 225 in eco pro mode. The water pump was electric and it runs the engine warmer in eco pro.
Anyone know if the Tacoma does this? Either with the water pump or active shutters?
If it runs lean or hotter than I’ll avoid using eco. If it’s stuff like hvac then I can live with it. Odd but I actually like how the engine and exhaust sounds in eco mode more than regular.
Does eco mode do anything other than throttle mapping? Does it cause the truck to run lean and therefore slightly hotter?
On a previous car different make, eco mode altered throttle mapping and ran the car hotter.
A little residue if ok as it inhibits rust and provides lubrication. I’ve not find it attracting more or less dust than normal. If there is build up then I usually just clean it with either some water or the clp. You can wipe off excess and it’ll still prove lubrication and protection.

Hard to say on a silver. There are only a handful of silvers with gloss trim that I’ve seen. Here is one example. I think there is another thread. I’ll try to find it too.
Silver with gloss
Yes. I’ve just cleaned off the latch area and then let it dry in the sun. Typically it gets clean enough while closed for me at a coin op self wash. Just watch the drain hole to make sure it’s draining fully.
I’ve been spraying the two latches with break free clp and the groaning noises and refusing to open has gone away. Dealer couldn’t figure out what was the problem but since doing this it’s been working in an acceptable manner.
I’ve tried some of the ones on Amazon. They’re basically plastic trays that have nubs at the bottom that’s supposed to act as slides. It did not slide at all with my lasfit bed mat. Especially once I placed my fridge or jackery 1000 on it. These have no wheels so they really don’t like anything...
Reset but you might need a more advanced reader than carista. Autel makes an advanced one that my friend uses at his shop. He’s come across this before and resetting the brake system seems to get rid of the message.
275 fit ok but only after I changed the caster a little. It was rubbing here. Still haven’t been able to locate the part number for the little piece yet.
Does anyone have experience regarding the durability of the OEM TH fuel tank skid? I need to add some protection to the rear portion of the tank since it seems really exposed. The last time I went Offroad I picked up a few scratches on the bottom of the rear tank and differential shield.
