This was quite the read. I went from Stock to TRD exhaust and love it. Used to have a river car with straight pipes, definitely didn’t want to go for that sound on this truck. TRD is very subtle but still sporty.
In short, I agree. Cheers.
I have a 25 Tacoma and my partner just purchased a 26 RAV4. The dealer told us it’s a newer version of the Toyota Operating System in the RAV4, which is why it works. So maybe if Toyota updates the Tacoma to the same system, it will be a feature.
I thought so from the picture, just wanted to make sure. Can you confirm if this is the 4K front facing, and if it comes with a memory card (capacity?) and all components needed for the plug and play install? Thanks!
Long overdue post, but a few months ago I was lucky enough to win a giveaway on here from @Muslogy Auto
Here are some pictures and quick thoughts on some of the accessories I was gifted:
Cup holder inserts: nice rubberized texture, and easy to insert/remove for cleaning.
Storage Bin...
Thanks! I ordered the muffler back exhaust and a new gasket today. Dealership said they’ll have it ready for pickup tomorrow. Ended up getting it for $504 with the current promos.
Shoutout to @bigd9247 for confirming some things for me. I’ll quote his PM in this thread to hopefully help...
Looks like the confirmation I was seeking for this part (PT226-35241-02) on a Long Bed Sport.
Just a few follow up questions if you don’t mind me asking:
1. You said you had it installed. Did they have to add extra length to the pipe, or is it a fit straight out of the box for the long bed...
I want to upgrade my JBL system. This kit seems interesting to me. I want to upgrade the door and dash speakers, plus add a sub. I’ve ruled out the beatsonic route, I want to go the route of using an amp.
Part of me wants to go for the convenience of this kit, because I believe these base level...
To me, OEM+ is keeping everything pretty much factory aesthetically, aside from minor functional mods like window visors and tints. It also includes using OEM part upgrades/replacements on lower trims, such as TRD parts. It starts to cross the line when you get into big lifts and tires, interior...
I have a stock TRD Sport and am considering the TRD twin pipe. I’ve ruled out the dump pipe because of exhaust concerns. How would you compare the sound of all 3, being stock exhaust, TRD dually, and axle dump?
I only want a mat if it’s functional, so coverage and fitment.
After that, durability and quality of build.
And lastly, please don’t plaster your massive logo all over it. If it’s more of an advertisement than anything else, I’m not even interested.
That’s a bummer to hear about the skid plate. I’ll have to look at mine. I drive in rain and snow regularly. Refinish looks great, though!
I don’t actually have those TRD Upgrade rims. I want to pick up a set when I find a good deal on them.
I like “OEM+” and have done a few things to my Sport:
OEM Bed Mat
Bed Step (Amazon brand)
APC Skid plate (Not OEM)
OEM all season floor mats - replaced with TripleA liners for superior coverage
Toyota OEM 6’ Tri Fold Tonneau Cover: PT954-35241
Predator Steps: PT925-35240
Canadian Wide...
I’m new to trucks and mountain bikes. I have a long bed with an oem trifold tonneau cover. I will need to transport 2 mountain bikes come spring/summer. Will a tailgate pad be sufficient? Or should I think about other methods to stow and go?
I still have my factory 18” Sport rims.
Changed tires to 265/70R18 Toyo AT3’s (SL rated).
Everything mounted fine, and I have all factory/stock suspension.
After considering the paint chip potential, I’m leaning towards the TRD upgrade rims over the Pro rims due to offset. For context, here...
I think it depends on your intended use. Most people who need a skid plate (meaning it sees action) would want to pay for something of quality. For me, it made more sense to get the APC skid plate from Amazon.
I am typically an “OEM+” guy on my vehicles. Tasteful modifications while maintaining...
