To me, OEM+ is keeping everything pretty much factory aesthetically, aside from minor functional mods like window visors and tints. It also includes using OEM part upgrades/replacements on lower trims, such as TRD parts. It starts to cross the line when you get into big lifts and tires, interior...
I have a stock TRD Sport and am considering the TRD twin pipe. I’ve ruled out the dump pipe because of exhaust concerns. How would you compare the sound of all 3, being stock exhaust, TRD dually, and axle dump?
I only want a mat if it’s functional, so coverage and fitment.
After that, durability and quality of build.
And lastly, please don’t plaster your massive logo all over it. If it’s more of an advertisement than anything else, I’m not even interested.
That’s a bummer to hear about the skid plate. I’ll have to look at mine. I drive in rain and snow regularly. Refinish looks great, though!
I don’t actually have those TRD Upgrade rims. I want to pick up a set when I find a good deal on them.
I like “OEM+” and have done a few things to my Sport:
OEM Bed Mat
Bed Step (Amazon brand)
APC Skid plate (Not OEM)
OEM all season floor mats - replaced with TripleA liners for superior coverage
Toyota OEM 6’ Tri Fold Tonneau Cover: PT954-35241
Predator Steps: PT925-35240
Canadian Wide...
I’m new to trucks and mountain bikes. I have a long bed with an oem trifold tonneau cover. I will need to transport 2 mountain bikes come spring/summer. Will a tailgate pad be sufficient? Or should I think about other methods to stow and go?
I still have my factory 18” Sport rims.
Changed tires to 265/70R18 Toyo AT3’s (SL rated).
Everything mounted fine, and I have all factory/stock suspension.
After considering the paint chip potential, I’m leaning towards the TRD upgrade rims over the Pro rims due to offset. For context, here...
I think it depends on your intended use. Most people who need a skid plate (meaning it sees action) would want to pay for something of quality. For me, it made more sense to get the APC skid plate from Amazon.
I am typically an “OEM+” guy on my vehicles. Tasteful modifications while maintaining...
Is it just the full coverage that doesn’t work with a tonneau coved? If so I’ll enter for the standard version. Thanks!
One problem for an accessory to solve would be a directional overhead front light cover, kind of like the air nozzle on an airplane. Probably paired with better bulbs or LEDs
I referenced the above video.

It’s about a 2-3 beer job. Easy, just takes some time. My tip would be to look at the last page or two of the...
My goal was to match factory glass tint. Went with 20% carbon tints (front only). I went back and forth on ceramic tints, but I’ve never had them in the past and living in New England, I decided it wasn’t necessary.
To the naked, untrained eye it is a spot on match from the outside. Looks...
You can thoroughly soak the surface and film and still not have much water dripping down. On the head unit I caught most of the drips with a rag, but it was absolutely more difficult on the gauge cluster. I had a small amount of soapy water drip down during the install and haven’t had any...
Took a better look after work this evening. Fully unfolded and then folded back down the cover a few times. It seems like the cover favors the passenger side a bit. I can grab the closed cover with 2 hands while shut and latched to straighten it out and bring it more center. Knowing this, I can...
Installed the OEM tonneau on my long bed. Love it, aside from some minor things.
I’m also not impressed with the drainage system. It is very lose where the plastic fitting attach to the underside of the tonneau cover. I also would like to find a fitting for the bed holes so I can shorten the...
for me, the only visual design feature I look for is lack of branding. I don’t like huge logos plastered everywhere (like a competitor has on their floor mats) - so I’m happy to see the logos didnt grow in these designs.
I agree with previous comments that structural integrity is more important...
