Hybrid TRD OFF ROAD. gas tank size. Just about everyone I have read on line says suspension is nice and compliant, I find it too harsh for daily use and off road.
the motor oil geek in a few of his video's tested the Penzoil Ultra Premium Plus ( I think) synthetic and it came out on top when tested to other oils, in most if not all of the metrics that matter.
I've been running this on my hybrid for close to a year now. Outside sound is nice, inside sound not so nice, especially while towing especially if the transmission stayes in 7th gear, can be quite load inside. I don't think I would call it droany (right word?) but still loader than I prefer...
Just for someone still deciding, one option is to get the non-hybrid and tune it, you can safely get hp close to the hybrid and increase torque also and still be like 500lbs lighter than the hybrid. I do have a hybrid because I wanted it in case we needed it for towing some day, like get a boat...
I would think the replacement one would be shorter, not longer since that is the problem. My local shop had a bunch of them to do so the shop foreman had one guy do them, and he was able to get a set done in like 20min.
Fun fact, my local dealership shop foreman is the one that caused that...
City driving my mpg swing from 15.8 to 19.0mpg so far this winter in Anchorage, AK. But I don't drive it much because of my work schedule out of town. TRD hybrid
Most AT's do fine in snow, the big question is how they do on ice and hard packed snow/ice that the roads turn into, at least here in AK. I've also heard from employees at a local 4x4 shop that they have good results from the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss on the ice/hard pack, but probably the...
my local dealer has a $6995.00 mark up on the TH and supposedly two are sold. of course there is no way of telling if the buyer paid the markup or how much of the mark up. I thought I saw a $10,000 markup on a TH at this dealer. They also mark up the 4Runner TH/Pro the same amount.
last two 16.3 and 16.0. all city driving. lives outside. when I'm home I plug in the block heater. night temps go as low as -9F and highs up to upper 20F's. lots of slippery roads running AT tires which don't do too well for winter traction.
I have used his video's to do some engine maintenance on the V6 in the RAV4 we had, and how to change the transmission fluid on the 2017 hybrid RAV4. His tutorials are excellent.
the car care nut recommends 5k minimum oil changes. he claims that Toyota engines start to burn oil when the engine gets over 100k or more due to owners following Toyota recommended oil changes at 10k. He says that that is too long and causes the rings to start sticking due to "old" oil. He...
I think it might have been the car care nut that said this. One would need to watch it again to understand his point he makes. Was surprising to me too, but also makes sense. So....?
