2024 Manual Transmission Shifter Wiggling Making "Cracking" Noise

Hello, I am posting this because I am wondering if anyone else has had this sound happen when rotating the shifter in their manual Tacoma. It seems to only happen below freezing when the truck is cold, and when the transmission warms up the free play and sound goes away. The transmission shifts normally but this movement and noise are bothering me. Is this normal?

Didn't notice anything like that with my 2026 last week when we were froze over, but I also didn't try to rotate it. They all use the same extension housing for the shifter. Wonder what that noise could be. Probably just slight slop between the shifter retainer seat and the shifter housing.

My 15 used to do that. Perfectly normal on that truck but I haven’t seen a 4g manual in person yet.
I would have ordered a manual but I thought when they quit making them for the prev gen they were done for good!
