Darn - must have missed that during all the announcements... Really wanted the various upgrades and a long bed, but guess I'll consider a 2023 or another trim.

There was a sport in a video that looked to of had every option the limited could get so maybe that is a route for you.

Thanks! Good advice - guess I'm definitely being picky - I've never liked the hood scoop, so didn't look at that trim...!

So with the destination charge the cheapest 4x4 Crew cab is a little over $38,000. That’s insane.

A 2023 DCSB 4x4 SR is $36,360 right now. I don't know what everyone expected with the pricing on a new generation of Tacoma, but $2,000-$3,000 is pretty much exactly what I would have thought it would be and for the most part it is. The Limited is the only one that really makes me scratch my head.

What surprises me is the Colorado and Frontier are both cheaper than the new Tacoma. The current Tacoma is already inflated in price and the new one is going to be even more it doesn’t make sense when you compare it to the competition.

I think it's going to come down to what features are standard and which ones are part of a package/how much those packages cost. There are some features that are standard on Tacoma trims that aren't on Colorado and vice versa so it's difficult to judge them head to head without really diving into everything. Once the configurator is available it'll help.

In any case though I don't see why Toyota wouldn't be priced higher than a Colorado or Frontier if all things were equal. Toyota has a much better track record for reliability and resale value. Makes sense that it would come with a slight premium if your product consistently sells better than the competition.

So a base SR5 went up 6 grand? That's absolutely ridiculous.
