My iPhone doesn't disengage from the Qi charger–but I 3d printed a locater. Perhaps that's your issue or it's your Android.
Do you have a picture of your locator or the print file? My case allows my iPhone to slide under the 10g turns I take...

But seriously, I like this idea and would love to see it!

Nice to know there's someone who is more OCD about their truck than I am.
I will agree with you, my non hybrid
( was, key word ) getting about the same mileage before I started modifying it.
Here's the rule of thumb on gas mileage and weight.
If you kit your truck out to go overlanding, or change the aerodynamic in any way, 17mpg would be like winning the lottery.
Currently, my truck with all my gear loaded to go play weighs in at a whopping 2000 lbs over stock.
I'll let you do the math for mpg's. I knew what I was getting myself into when I started building a Toy.

As much as I think the overlanding community is great, I'm also a remote backpacker and ADV camp n rider, and do a week+ with the guys on water accessible only campsites, so I've got a kit so refined, it gives me that capacity and packs into a canoe or on the back of a motorcycle. There's nothing more I'd gain, and now I can hop in the truck with nothing else to shake off of it, and hit the trails to some killer remote fly fishin spots. Just wish there were more in southern NE....

Thanks for the hug brother!

But no really, the key fob sucks either way, but at least I can lock my car from in the house. To get the auto start from the keyfob to work I have to be within RFID tag range, not radio range it would seem, which completely defeats the purpose as we all know.

For the phone, it certainly can be the phone, but it's a Google Pixel, and you'd think it would work ok. Apple does seem to work better. Granted, I've yet to see an OEM car one work well for anyone at all...

Given that the truck went through a new england winter, it's probably rocks and other debris being kicked up vs bugs. It's ABS like anyone else's unpainted ABS, so I'm sure there's nothing to be done but add some purposeful trail scratches. That girl's got hips though lol, love it.

For context, been a Subie owner since '04 with an STi and had WRX, Outbacks and last a Crosstrek Wilderness. Their paint in general is very thin, so we'll see how the yoda taco does. I wish I could afford ppf on the whole thing, but just no.

Happy to be a part of the new community, and sure I'm having some honeymoon sparkle since it's my first truck ever and I do love it. Got in on a proper trail last night and was just silly fun. I did walk it with pruners first :D
You're nice. I'm gonna try to be more like you lol I hope you work some of these things out!
I will say I had a new Bolt EUV and a new Ioniq 5 before this and build quality just isn't what it used to be anywhere these days. If I even look at the trim in my house it falls off the wall.

I noticed if you remote start it will try and hook up to your phone but the distance will cause it to fail and it doesn't detect when you finally get close enough. What I do instead of the settings route to try and connect is if you hold the power button it will restart the infotainment and detect your phone. It's easier for me to just hold the button as I'm driving away rather than do the settings to manually connect.

It usually always connects my Android when not remote starting.
