I’ve been really happy with the Wolfbox G900 TriPro Dash Cam so far. The installation took a while, mainly because I decided to mount the rear camera outside above the license plate instead of inside the rear window. I ran the wiring along the driver-side A-pillar, under the door sill, and through a rubber grommet under the seat, then zip tied to the frame to the back of the truck. Getting the front camera wire through the firewall was probably the most frustrating part, but after a while I eventually got it. Could have made it quicker if I just cut a bigger hole but wanted to run it through the rubber part sticking out to try to keep it as tight as possible. Might have been overkill, I’m by no means an expert, but didn’t want to make any unnecessary cuts if I didn’t have to.
Both cameras are very clear, and the rear camera has held up great through rain, 15+ car washes, pressure washing, foam cannons, and daily driving. No issues with water or camera shake. The wide-angle rear view has virtually eliminated my blind spots, which is one of my favorite things about this setup. Also use the front camera more than expected mainly with parking in my garage and parking spots with big yellow pillars in front of the spot. I alway was afraid to tap whatever was I front of me which would cause me to never park close enough, have to get out, check, then pull forward another 5-10 inches. Dash cam also has built in GPS and speed monitoring, which shows up on your dash cam videos if you want it to.
The only downside to mounting the rear camera outside is that rain can sometimes make the image difficult to see. When that happens, I just hit the power button and use it as a regular rearview mirror. Mounting the camera inside the rear window would also let you see into the truck bed. I really like being able to adjust the viewing angles right on the touchscreen and download videos directly to my phone over Wi-Fi. Also be aware that since the mirror is larger than factory (a good thing), the sun visor does it it, at least in the position it is in my truck.
Overall, it took some patience to install, but I’m happy with the results. Looks cool too. FYI it took me a couple of weeks to get adjusted to. Kept wanting to use the mirror as a mirror instead of a screen, but I’m used to it now. Good job Wolfbox!
