CarPlay connects, mic lacks volume.

Have a 26 Tacoma TRD off-road and with CarPlay connected any out going call's or commands are not heard . I’ve done some troubleshooting for the last 2 days without success. Beyond frustrating to say the least for a new truck. Any help is appreciated.

Have you tried, when pushing the “talk” button immediately turning the volume up, either the steering wheel buttons or knob on the screen?
