Cool trail, took about 1hr, going 10mph most of the time. Very scenic, goes through coastal cliffs, small plains, redwood forests. Drove it from the South, Andrew Molera State Park to the North, exiting at Bixby Canyon bridge.
Somewhat rutted in spots but overall you could probably do this in a Subaru Outback as long as you were okay with sending it on the uphill stuff.
I only had to throw it in 4Hi once for a switchback about halfway through.
Highly recommended to do, before it starts raining in CA. Wouldn't want to do it when its muddy, its closed during wet weather anyways.
A few hikers, people walking their dog, and motorcyclists were on the trail. Didn't come across any other trucks/cars. There's spots that are pretty narrow, so someone coming the other way would have resulted in some reversing for sure. Also got a few pinstripes from overgrowth onto the trail.
