Finally saw a Raptor in person...

After all the hype I finally saw a Raptor in person. It was Shelter Green with the graphics package. Here are my thoughts:

1. The green is okay looking in person, but like most of the colors Ford is using recently I'm underwhelmed. It didn't pop like I was hoping it would, and instead looks kinda like it's got a layer of dust or pollen on it.

2. The graphics package takes away from the overall looks of the truck, at least on SG. I think it looks okay on some of the flat colors, but on this it's distracting. Glad I opted to not order it.

3. The orange interior accents are too much. Orange stitching would have been fine, but the orange here isn't all that flattering of a color and the amount Ford used is over the top and in your face. And this is from a guy who has had more than one car with a smoking jacket (re: porno) red interior.

Honestly, this kinda makes me want to change the color I ordered and maybe even wait until '25 to see if they tone down the interior accents. I dunno. I guess I feel a little let down and just needed to vent.

I agree. I've been saying Ford could have made a lot more money if they made the graphics package standard, and charged $700 to remove it.

I have seen 3 RRs so far in Central PA. 2 Velocity blue, graphics, and beadlock wheels. One was a dark color, but I saw it early in the AM. All also sitting on the front lawn of the dealerships, probably marked up atleast 10k.
I don’t even want to see one up close until mine comes, lol.
I want it to be like the first time I saw my wife. It HAS to be better than I saw in all those online videos, right??

I've only seen a few non raptors on my dealer lot. 2 lariats and one xlt.

Other than my Raptor, no other raptors.

Only saw one xlt so far on the road.

Couldn't agree more on the "meh" colors. Weak. I started out Red, then saw a picture of one and changed it to Black.

THe Red they had previously was really nice, but it's not available. I see all kinds of cars everyday with nice blues, yellow, orange, red, green, and they just blow the 24 RR out of the water.

Going to add my own graphics to spruce it up.

I have to admit, after seeing people's pictures of the Carbonized Gray on here, I think it's a really good looking, unique color.

I understand that a lot of people love silver on their vehicles, but I'm not one of those people. I think I've watched too many shows on Motor Trend tv.

"Shorty" in Houston, man that guy can paint! His prices are probably way out of my league though. Maybe I'll take up airbrushing or hairbrushing. Throw some wet paint on it, then yank out some hair and toss it in the wet pain.

For many it is chosen because it hides the most dirt, grime, scratches, etc.

Ruby and Rapid red were some stunning colors, and would have been on my short list. I also loved the copper/brown color on the 2015(?) F-150s. And who can forget the gorgeous Pacific Green on the Eddie Bauer trucks from the early 90s? Then the short lived Kona Blue in my Focus and some Mustangs from around 2012. It's really something to see when it's clean and waxed.

Ford still has a few good color today, but most of them are only on one or two vehicles. It's really a shame because Toyota and GM have some stunning colors and they seem to be across the whole line up. Makes me wish Ford would follow suit. We need some bright, fun colors to make up for how bleak the world seems post COVID. I'm tired of everything being matte looking military colors.

I love the grey with the default ranger graphics, not the extra ones.

IMO they swung and missed with the shelter green when they had eruption green as an option. I'd of paid more for eruption green any day of the week and was really looking forward to it in that color until I saw it was dropped in favor of SG.
