Hey everyone,

Just wanted to introduce myself and share a bit of my journey. I'm officially a first-time truck owner and proud to say I'm rolling in a Ice Cap 2024 Tacoma SR5 4WD. Until recently, I didn’t know the first thing about trucks. Torque specs? Offset numbers? Hub bore sizes? Total mystery. 😅

But the Tacoma has been the perfect entry point, it’s comfortable, capable, and has already sparked a growing obsession with towing logistics, tire fitment, and getting my setup dialed for long hauls. I’ll be running 265/70R17 Falken Wildpeaks and looking for wheels that give me a clean stance without rubbing. From what I’ve gathered, 17x8 or 17x8.5 wheels with an offset around +10 to +25mm are ideal, but I’ve also been eyeing 0 offset options for a slightly more aggressive look. Still weighing the pros and cons on that front.

Also digging into lug nut options. Tacomas run M12 x 1.5 thread pitch, and I’m learning how wheel seat type (mag vs conical) plays into choosing the right ones. I’m leaning toward black chrome or gunmetal finishes to match a darker wheel setup.

Would love to hear what you all remember about your first truck and how deep you fell down the rabbit hole.

Hey there OP! Welcome to the club - (first time truck buyer here also). Mine is a ‘25 SR5 4x4 long bed in underground. I’ve only gotten side steps and the LC skid plate in my list of things I’ve messed with, but hoping to follow your thread for other ideas and inspiration!
