Yes, they’re K&N and must be oiled to do the filtration. Agree, easy to over-oil them, but I’m good to go with K&N after using them for many years with my Hondas. I have one spare for the Tacoma bought during a Toyota parts sale.

It's been awhile since I have used them, it seems it is spray on now so that will be much easier than the drip application. It is what it is, I live off a dirt road and Colorado has been dry and dusty in general for over a decade at this point.

Not sure those catch cans are good to work with our engines.

Will definitely research it well before I buy and apply so if you have heard any negative things, I would be open to it. I use one on my supercharged 2005 Tacoma and it has made a huge difference in keeping the intercooler clean which in turn does well at keeping charge temps down.
