I don’t understand the hype

I was waiting for that too, but I honestly don’t think it’s going to happen.It's a truck. I'd never pay more than what I did until they start making these in the US again to be honest. Tacoma has never been my "dream" truck, Hilux has been.
In many ways I miss my NUMMI built 2G, aside from DANA failing to apply frame protection properly and then it rusted to bits lol but at least it was made 40 miles away by Union workers who could contribute to the local economy. No shade on Mexico Toyota plants workers, I have a MX passport. Toyota is choosing to build the trucks there because cheap.
But yeah, the quality is meh. 4R with J vin seem better built.
Just waiting for the Hilux to come to the USI want a turbo diesel hybrid. Turbo gasser truck makes no sense tbh.
Then Congress passed that effing remote disable cars law and I said “f it, I’m buying now.”
Fair, and yeah it can always get worse. I think my next truck will be older actually haha.
Seems like Toyota will probably prevent permanently disabling safety features like lane keep assist and stuff in the future, wacky.
If anyone has a clean 3G xtra cab 2.7 4x4 MT lets trade. 2G works too. I just want that 2TR-FE

I like lane tracking a lot, but the 30sec annoyer is annoying af.
What I truly object to, is the government being able to disable my vehicle. That will not fly.
I’ll probably buy another older vehicle to mod for fun times after the taco is paid off, I got the taco more for general commuting, etc, not for hard off-road use.
