At some point in the past few weeks one of the two horizontal shocks in the passenger side seat popped. My wife rarely rides with me and I don't move the seat from where it is (I put it in the sweet spot where it lines up with the B pillar to minimize the atrocious blind spot when pulling out into traffic.
Anyways, I move the seat forward and noticed a wet spot on the floor and after some investigating I found the horizontal shock nearest the B pillar was wet with shock fluid.
I took a couple pics and have set up an appt with the dealer to get it fixed. Hopefully it will be done without any friction from the dealer/Toyota. The first pic is a normal shock and the second is the one with the defective seal.
The red band is used to determine how compressed the shock has gotten during use. This one is blown.
I have less that 6000 miles on it so I don't think I will. I love my seat (it is super comfy and you can feel it move with you around sharp turns and over speed bumps, cause, you know, there is nothing else I would run this truck over...
) so I hope this isn't a normal event for these things.
