I recently installed the @Mabett hood struts on my '24 Trailhunter and wanted to share my honest experience. To be clear, I was not paid for this review.
The installation was quick and straightforward. One feature I particularly liked was the single hood hinge bolt mounting design. Because the bracket is supported directly by the hinge, there is less concern about the hood shifting during installation, which can sometimes happen with dual-bolt designs.
For the installation process, I found it easiest to install all of the mounting brackets first and attach the upper strut ends before connecting the lower ends. Once everything was positioned, the lower strut connections simply snapped into place, making the final assembly very easy.
Areas for Improvement
While the overall product is impressive, there are a few areas where Mabett could make it even better:
Overall, I think these hood struts are a great product, especially considering the price point. They provide the same clean appearance and functionality as many more expensive alternatives while remaining easy to install. Despite a few minor improvements I'd like to see, I would recommend them to anyone looking to add hood struts without spending premium-brand money.

While the overall product is impressive, there are a few areas where Mabett could make it even better:
- The paint coating on the mounting brackets is fairly thin. A higher-quality powder-coated finish would improve durability and appearance.
- Installation instructions should include torque specifications for the mounting bolts.
- The lower mounting brackets exhibit a little flex. Additional reinforcement or support would help improve rigidity.
