Mabett just picked up a Tacoma to start building parts & accessories — would love your input

I’m envisioning that it tucks under the cassette and comes out no further than the wheel wells so the rest of the bed is free… and keeps the weight of the box (and cost) lower.

I'm really surprised that nobody has brought up the absolutely dismal glove box. Every car I've ever owned had a fairly useful glove box. The Tacoma's is really bad. I dread opening it because everything will inevitably fall out. I've tried a couple of the aftermarket divider solutions, but they're mostly junk and don't solve the problem.

Clean take. The no-logo honeycomb grille was a popular move on the 3rd gen, and it's surprising nobody's brought a solid OEM-quality version to the 4G yet. Definitely a niche, but one worth watching. Thanks for laying it out.

Actually, I have installed an aftermarket Apex Pro style grille with no branding. There is a light bar. Yellow or white option and an option to have or not have raptor lights.

Had another idea I figured I'd float out into the world. Customizable GUI for the cluster. It would be nice to be able to change the background of the cluster from the generic blue and more options for guages like classic styling vs the tablet in the dash feel. Basically, more customization visually to better match user preference, build themes and body colors.

For example, Haltech yellow would really look tits for those of us with bronze oxide:

Yes!!!....also a better GUI on the premium sound screen!!! It looks "bleah" and basic, and is NOT facile or functional..... Look at the BMW 2022 X3 for a nice interface- especially when using SiriuXM! Driving me bonkers!
