No Drill DIY Modular Bed Mounting System

Hey guys, I thought I'd share a small DIY project for those wanting to mount bed/fridge slides, drawers, additional tie-down points, etc to the bottom of the bed without drilling through the bed. I personally did not want to drill through the bed to mount a fridge slide, so I came up with a system utilizing 10-series aluminum extrusion that is anchored to the bed via the bed bolts. For reference, I have a 2025 TRD OR with a 5' foot bed. This system could easily be modified for long beds. Fortunately, the depth of the bed ribs is 1/2" deep and approx. 1-1/4" wide.

The parts I used include:

(4) 59" long 1050 extrusion
(1) 52" long 1050 extrusion
(1) 52" long 1010 extrusion
(4) 3-hole slotted inside corner bracket
(4) 5-hole "T" joint plate
(4) 2"x2" stainless steel slotted angle corner bracket (had to drill out the bracket to fit the bed bolt through)
(2) 2-hole inside corner brackets
(3) rolls of 10' long x 1" wide x 1/16" thick neoprene rubber tape (adhered to the bottom of the extrusions to protect the bed. Neoprene tape raises the 1050 extrusions 1/16" above the top of the bed ribs

I ordered the extrusions and brackets/plates from Tnutz.com and the stainless steel brackets, neoprene tape, and hardware from Amazon. The total cost of the parts was approximately $250.

The nice thing about this system is that it is modular using the 10 series aluminum extrusion ecosystem. It provides unlimited mounting points, and I can always add extrusions to the system in the future if needed. I'm looking forward to mounting the OVS heavy-duty fridge slide that I have on order.

Very neat.

In my case I have to have the bare bed hauling dirty messy stuff often and a lot of uses so I'll offer this FYI/PSA. My main reason for getting the Saris Traps was for when I carry bikes under my Fas-Top, but the bolts secure lots of other things, and you can also secure the Traps extrusion as well as move it around in the truck bed.

When I considered my bill of materials and labor for what I was planning, catching the Saris Traps on sale made a lot of sense. I don't see something more or less permanent as right/wrong or good/bad contrasts but maybe this will help if someone is in a similar work/task/personal use scenario.
