Random knock from engine

I’ve got a 2024 Tacoma SR5 and it makes a knocking noise at times. I’m going to make an appointment to get it serviced but now I’m just curious. The truck has about 2000 miles and has been doing it since I bought it in November. It doesn’t do it if the truck is idling in park, in fact if I stop and it starts making the noise and I shift to park it stops. It does it while accelerating sometimes and while stopped

Sounds like something is loose and the RPMs are just right to make it rattle. Doesn't sound like engine knocking to me. These engines are noisy and the injectors make a similar noise but I'm not sure that's it.

I'd mention it when you bring it in. Seems fairly consistent and easy to recreate.

Sounds like some kind of interior rattle. Those can be a PITA to track down.

I have same issue from 35-45 mph. Tried gas cleaner, high octane gas with some improvement. It occurs when the gear is almost in need of a lower gear or a consistent vibration around 40 on quiet roads. One time was center speaker but this is from under hood. Not at low or high speeds. Just moved from hot to cold environment so I thought perhaps dirty gas on trip or condensation from temp difference. Any ideas? With improvements, I delayed service to find a more consistent repeatable sound for a technician.

No idea yet. I brought it to the dealer a few weeks ago and they said the hood was out of alignment so they adjusted it and it is still making the noise. I’ve got another appointment this coming week to drop it off.

Just got it back after the 3rd time getting it looked at. They said a bracket for the coolant lines was loose along the firewall and they tighten it. I picked it up yesterday and so far I haven’t heard the noise so I’m hoping that’s what it was
