Rear seat replacement + rear backrest + car seat fitment

Looking for some real world experience...What infant or rear-facing car seats have you actually used in your Double Cab, and what has fit the best without pushing the front seat too far forward?

I’m also wondering if anyone has safely removed only the rear backrest to create more room while keeping the lower seat/LATCH system in place. Has anyone done that successfully with a car seat installed, and if so, did it still feel safe and workable? Is it even possible?

Related question: has anyone found or used a lower-profile / thinner / less padded rear seat setup for the Tacoma that still works with car seats and anchors?

I've contemplated a full seat-delete, but I'm not sure the wisdom (or legality) of stapping a carseat to a platform rather than a seat. But removing just the backrest seems viable...

Any seat recommendations, photos, or install tips would be appreciated.

Removing or modifying anything factory where your infant’s car seat is supposed to be strapped just sounds like a horrible idea.
