Hey everyone, I’ve got a Trailhunter with the 6ft bed and I’m looking for a tonneau cover that includes T-slot rails so I can eventually mount racks or crossbars. I’ve been considering the Retrax, but I have a concern about the canister.

I race motorcycles and usually tow them on a trailer, but every now and then I like to haul one in the bed. When I do, I use a wheel chock placed up against the front of the bed near the cab, and that setup has always worked well. My question is—if I go with the Retrax, is the canister strong enough to have a wheel chock braced against it? I don’t think it would be carrying much load, but I want to be sure I’m not risking damage.

I’m aware the canister takes up some bed space, but I’ve got a bed extender, so that helps balance it out. Just curious if anyone here has experience with this setup or thoughts on whether it would hold up.

I've looked into the revolver version too but every review I've seen it seems that the vinyl falls apart after a couple years.

Any help is appreciated

I have the retrax cover. My concern if I were you would be denting the canister. Not sure it would affect the function, but I guess I wouldn’t chance it.

That is exactly my concern. Is the canister pretty robust or is it a little bit softer metal?

It seems fairly robust, but I’m also sure it would dent with what you’re wanting to do.
