Rough Country E boards 4th Gen installed on TRD Pro. Need help!

Found this forum and I am seeing a couple people successfully installing Rough Country E Boards (Dual motor running boards) steps on their 4th gen Tacoma TRD Pros.

I was able to install mine on my 2026 TRD Pro and get them working…

but…

installed I found out why they don’t fit the TRD Pro. When retracted, there is an 3/4in gap from the body that grows to an 1 1/2in back to front… (that I can’t adjust out like the manual confusingly says to. Seems backwards, but also not enough play to matter)
… And deployed… the steps slope downward 7 degrees.

This is on both sides. They are C+ passable, but I worry about the slope and potential for slipping.

Wondering if this has happened to anyone else installing Rough Country E boards on their 4th gen TRD Pro and if they were able to solve this issue?

I installed them on my TRD OR and don't have this issue. (They're great)

What's different about the TRD Pro that causes this issue? Isn't the frame identical?

No, there is something about the TRD Pro (confirmed by Rough Country) about the body variances between the Pros and literally all other styles. 🫩

I think everyone thought it was just an issue with it being a hybrid, but you can get Hybrid on other trims.
