Hello all,

New here with my first ever Tacoma purchased recently. Stock SR5 and currently the least modified truck I’ve ever owned, so time to make it “mine”. My buddy jokingly asked me if I was here to clean his pool when I showed up to his house, needless to say I was ordering rims and tires that night.

Ordered some Matte Bronze RRW RR5-H 17x8 +18. I had these rims in 20s on one of my previous trucks and really loved them. I will be wrapping them in 275/70/17 Wildpeaks for the c-load rating as I won’t really be doing any real off-roading in this truck, and gas mileage is important to me so no need to go super big or heavy. Will likely be leveling the truck as well and that will probably round out my modifications. Trying to be an adult with this truck lol. my question is, everyone seems to do a +25 offset on these trucks when it comes to RRW rims. From my understanding, the +18 would poke a little bit more than the +25, but with the 8 inch trim versus the 8 1/2 inch rim, I don’t completely understand what the difference is.

Having a hard time deciding if I should panic call RRW and have them switch my order to the +25 before it’s too late.

Thanks!

Offset 25-18=7mm=0.276 in. 1/2 inch narrower wheel 1/4in on each side. The additional poke will be .276-.250=0.026 inches. You will not notice either way.

Thank you! I know it gets a little funky when you start changing rim width. So technically the +18 is a tiny bit more poke, correct (if both rims were the same width)?

In a nutshell, an 8.0 inch rim width at +18 is pretty much equal to a 8.5 inch wide rim at +25.
