Seat Covers for 4th Gen — Getting Close, Need Your Thoughts on Install

We’ve been working on a set of seat covers and after a few rounds of iteration, we finally have a version installed where the fit and overall look feel right — pretty much dialed in at this point.

That said, we’re still looking to refine the install experience and make it as straightforward as possible.

Curious — what usually makes a seat cover install feel easy vs frustrating for you guys?

Appreciate any input — this kind of feedback really helps us refine things the right way.

for me, it’s really about the protection. I can live with the hassle of that first install, to be honest.

Please provide something to help clip the bottom straps under the seats. The space under the seats is incredibly cramped, and there isn't much room to get your head down there to see what you're doing, so having a tool -even a plastic one- is helpful. That, and video instructions that are realistic and don't magically skip all the frustratingly hard parts to somehow show the seat covers perfectly fitted with no difficulty. Show me the hard parts so I don't have to learn them on the fly.

After I bought my 2025 TRD OR hybrid last October, I knew that the fabric covered seats were not going to work for me... easily soiled and hard to clean. I bought a set of Carlimeki seat covers...black with red accents to match my paint color. Before I finished installing the full set. I stopped and put them all back in the box where they still sit in the garage today. I opted to buy the Katzkin leather seating and have it professionally installed...a more costly solution but one that I could afford. Here are some points I have that soured me on the Carlimeki covers:
- advertised as "leather", all plastic
- seat insert panels do not lay flat. dead giveaway that these were not OEM
- back seat lowers had cutouts for non-hybrid seat hold down straps, looked out of place
- rear lower seat cover had Velcro retainer straps that did not adhere to the carpet on the underside of the OEM hybrid seat
- straps on front seats did not hold the cover taut, cover moved around when sat upon.

I am not speaking out of school here, I voiced my concerns to Carlimeki but by the time I felt that I had gotten my points made, I had already decided that there was no way that I was going to be happy with this product. While working for the DOD I earned a masters degree in Product Development so l feel that I may have a different perspective on this issue...I applaud you for your efforts to gain feedback from your end users. I ordered Coverdream from Amazon, but received EKR. The quality was very good, I’m pleased with the product for the price ($200). Installation was tedious, but doable be me (age 75, hand strength is not what it was in the past). Hand strength is required, poking the flap of the seat bottom, and the flap of the seat back into the correct position was difficult. feeding the straps into correct location and attaching was second difficult task. Fit, finish look, seat comfort now with 8 months, 7000 miles is A grade

A good quality YouTube video is very helpful. The front seats have a sweet spot in the angle to allow an easier time passing the cover between the seat and base. Also reclining the seat helps get the lower cover straps off. Tips like that are a huge help and should be noted on the video

Fitment and material. Those two are the make-or-break we hear about most—honestly, the dividing line between a product that stays on the truck and one that ends up back in the box. We'll be double-checking both during the sample stage.

You really need to just take the seats out to get the job done. It makes it so much easier, and it's just 4 bolts to remove them. Idk why anyone would install these without removing the seats.

Honestly I wish a company would make some seat covers out of marine-grade vinyl and not the cheapo leatherette that every company seems to be using. I have EKR covers in mine and while the fitment is great, the material is just terrible! The seats are so sticky that you can hardly move around in them and it grabs your clothes in all the wrong ways. Marine vinyl is much more slippery and just way more comfortable.
