Has anyone upgraded their SR5 to the TRD Offroad Bilsteins? Can't find anything on the topic, I am going to be making the upgrade soon. Figure it'll be smoothe but thought I should ask. If no one's done it, I guess I'll be able to provide a definitive answer.

People have done it. There are better options out there IMO. And you likely know this, but make sure if you're buying take offs that they are not a recalled set.

Thank you for the link! Definitely better options but I'm paying almost nothing for these shocks, and I have confirmed they are not under recall currently.

And of course I see many more links for this mod after I make a post about it but couldn't find any before I made the post.

Can't beat the price then! Will be better than the Hitachis 🤙

You should know I had to upgrade my TRD Off Road suspension to Dobinson's 1-3" IMS Suspension Kit. It was a bit pricey but definitely worth it. I have extra wt from Overlanding gear and the factory suspension just wasn't cutting it. For what its worth. You might want to consider spending a little bit more and you'll likely end up with a much better system.

Thank you for the input. I don't intend to add much permanent weight, if any. Main reason for the upgrade is heat management on dirt roads to trailheads. If my knowledge is accurate, shocks with external reservoirs can handle more heat created by riding on rough roads. Please correct me if I am wrong.

As long as the POS reservoirs don't fall off 😂
But you are correct! Idk what you're paying, but I'll just throw it out there that I love my 5100s. They're affordable and last forever.

Is the reservoirs falling off the reason for the recall on '24-'25 TRD OR's? The ones I'm picking up are from a '26.
