TBC not available message

Hi y’all,

everytime I start my taco, I’m greeted with a message that says “tbc not available- 1 Boat - gain 1.6”

I have no clue what that means other than it has something to do with “trailer brake control”. I don’t have anything attached to my truck…I don’t have any wiring plugged in the tow connectors…

Is this standard operating procedure with our tacos? Or is it a setting I accidentally activated? Totally new to Toyotas and Tacomas here. Thanks in advance!

It means your truck can't detect or communicate with your trailer brakes.

I see. Since I don’t have a trailer attached nor do I have the trailer harness plugged in, I assume this message is normal?
