Been trying to find someone with the same issue. I've got a '25 OR Hybrid and I noticed this exact problem. Just took it in this morning and had the technician ride with me and he said he was feeling it and drove two other hybrids and felt the same thing. But now that I'm back home I'm wondering if he was just feeling the hard switch from electric to gas motor and not the weird shuttering thing I'm feeling. It's definitely not a ride quality thing. It only happens when I'm lightly on the gas. As soon as I take my foot off the gas it's gone. Also I feel it for a second when I'm initially accelerating. Maybe between 1st and 2nd or 2nd and 3rd gear. I think I'm gonna go back to the dealership and drive another one myself and see if I can recreate the problem with another truck. Do you have any updates on your end?

I feel like 2 seconds of lugging sometimes but nothing continuous - do you guys feel it for long durations ? Also, higher octane fuel helps so much with smoothness and lugging

Yeah for about 2 seconds when I'm first taking off between the lower gears and not accelerating quickly. But then for a bit longer when I'm coasting. When taking my foot off the gas and then lightly putting it back on the gas it can happen for longer.

For me it’s minimal and isn’t really anything that bothers or concerns me. I think it’s worse maybe on some trucks?

Gotcha. Yeah mine is nothing too crazy but it is noticeable and my passengers can feel it/hear it too so I thought it was worth checking out. At the very least I've got it documented with the dealer if it becomes an issue down the road.

Mine does not rise to the level of anyone having any idea that anything weird happened. Good thing you got it documented

Same here. TRD Sport 4x2. I am taking it to the dealer and afraid of them saying it is a normal characteristic of the truck. Pretty sure it is related to the driveline… feeling it more when coasting. Around 35-45 mph, once I hit the gas pedal, it basically disappears.

I guarantee that's what they'll say. I went and test drove another Tacoma on the lot and felt the same thing. Hopefully it's just some weird resonance happening with certain RPMs but it still does make me worry. But I've got over 12k miles now and haven't had anything break yet

It's a body on frame truck, not a Camry or Lexus.

I have 20k miles running heavy 265/70 KO2's and nothing out of the ordinary. My last ride was a 2016 SR with 265/75 R16 KO2's. Coils way batter than leafs.

Try and run some weight in the bed and see if you feel difference. If I put 2 sand tubes back there, it rides like my Camry. Little weight makes a huge difference.

I’ve tried adding weight to the bed, but all that did was change the speed at which the vibration shows up.

I recently saw another post from someone who said they could feel a vibration through the gas pedal, and that’s exactly what I’m dealing with. For me, it feels more like an oscillation. It happens when I’m lightly on the gas just to maintain speed, and it is also there when coasting or slowing down whether I’m braking or just letting the truck decelerate on its own. I can feel it through the gas pedal, brake pedal, steering wheel, and even the seat.

I know some trucks aren’t affected, but I’ve seen plenty of 4th gen owners (FB groups, TacoWorld, etc.) describing the same issue and trying to fix it with road force balancing and front-end alignments. It seems driveline-related. Hopefully Toyota acknowledges it and releases a TSB or recall for those of us dealing with it.

If anyone else is experiencing this, please keep us updated. The vibration has gotten to the point where I don’t enjoy driving the truck anymore.

Your issue sounds a lot like the infamous needle bearing vibration:

My truck also does this and it's most noticeable around 35mph and coasting. Once back on the throttle it goes away.
