Weird one so follow along. I have a SR5 (no slider rear window, no sunroof). I had the door panel off to put sound deadening matting and new speakers in it. I also put a powered subwoofer in a while ago. Now I can not control the right rear window from the drivers master control switch. The window opens from its own switch. When I get out of the truck i get the window open message on the dash.
I know this is a goofy question and may have been caused by my disturbing something inside the door.
1. Does anyone know where the window gets its sense of being open?
2. has anyone had this issue.
3. battery reset?
4. tear door and wiring apart?

Please don't let this thread go into the gutter like the other window open thread on this site. (people name calling)

I don't know what your warranty situation is but I would use that option if availabe as opposed to any DIY solution. Next oil change just tell the service writer and let them resolve it. "tearing the door and wiring apart" will risk not fixing it and possibly void the option to have it fixed for free. Unfortunately you may have already given the dealer an option to deny it due to your mods but I would at least try.

Thanks ridetime.

I had to cut into the wire bundle to hook up speaker hi level input for the subwoofer. Worried they will see that and tell me I need a gajillion dollar harness.

I would think fixing that rear door switch button on the drivers door would fix the window open message? Could you have nicked one of the wires that controls the rear window? Maybe you could get a toner or meter to test continuity from the front door switch to the rear switch? Just thinking out loud. Good luck!
