Yakima Outpost HD installed on Diamondback

Took me all day, with a couple hiccups, but fairly straightforward install. Came out great, I think. Also good tech assistance by phone from Diamondback. Recommend.

Have you considered installing the racks on the existing cleat locations? I want to do this but want to avoid drilling holes into the cover to add tracks.

Uptop has bars that can be installed into the cleat bolts as shown in these photos.

Yeah, I did look at the Up Top system and liked the cleat tie-in system, but I think I ended up going with the Yakima system b/c the company has been around for so long, has great accessories line, and customer service. They also partner directly w/Diamondback, which I liked. Nothing against Up Top, but for the $$$ cost of this whole set up, I wanted peace of mind. And, actually, I did need help during the install and a human at Diamondback answered the phone and talked me through the Yakima set up. So that was exactly what I wanted..
