It's a federal safety requirement. Any vehicle operating in battery only mode must make a sound to help alert blind pedestrians to awareness of the vehicle.
Pedestrian Safety Enhancement Act (PSEA)
In 2010, Congress established the PSEA to require the National Highway Traffic Safety...
Is there an easy location to track or reference the general list as it grows?
(I don't see TSBs as a bad thing, they show actively trying to address issues that are showing a trend)
Hey CJ,
I'm over in Catonsville, depend on where you are in CC. Do you find yourself over this way at all?
If so,

Using high beams in bad weather is bad (counter intuitive) as it illuminates more but it's by reflection and thus reducing how far ahead and how clearly you can see.
While white light is "brighter", it's actually less penetrating than colored light in adverse conditions.
Lower is better, and...
Swapped out the OEM bright chrome grille with the bronze heritage grille. opted for the @Diode Dynamics 18" light bar because I wanted to remain street legal (and this was purchased 3 months ago, so way before they announced their 20" option at SEMA last week). I opted for the kit approach...
Loved the mats, but rear mat was not a fit for my hybrid. Lightly used for about 150mi of driving before I secured a hybrid-compatible liner.
Available for local pick-up. Asking $50 (retail $105).
Had originally ordered the @TripleAliners when no one had hybrid liners available. I knew full well the rear would be a poor fit, but it was mitigation money to have something, and of the non-hybrid options available, I liked the TripleALiners the best in appearance and coverage, so that's what...
I get where some get hung up on the engine running, but it's no different than if you were running a portable generator. Just saving you the hassle of a separate heavy motor.
It can only be a battery power station for so long before tripping it's lower limit point. The battery is a bit of a...
Agree that they could easily display the effective numeric value above each bar and it would be significantly better.
That said, have you tried tapping or pressing on a given bar to see if a pop-up occurs?
I have a limited hybrid and I think I've noticed similar to the point that I was contemplating if I should make a post about it.
For me, if I've got the truck in the 38-40mpg zone, it's got a noticably rough transmission spot. Below that and above that, smooth as glass and beautiful.
An I...
Daytime Running Lights
Enable/Disable them (if you have your lights set to "auto" they are on by default. This being off disables them)
Personally I hate DRLs... In my observation all they have done is create more people driving around in bad conditions or at night with their lights off bc the...
Thanks for helping me figure it out! I got it working as desired.
For the reference record: In the infotainment settings you set door smart access to driver only. Then when outside the vehicle, one 2-3 second hold will lock everything. If locked, a 2-3 second hold from the driver's handle...
So, leave the car setting on driver's door only, then just long hold the driver's handle rather than short hold?
Coming from a vehicle that was build before this complexity existed (but used to the one-tap-two-tap method of other manufacturers)
Anyone figure out the setting where the touch on the driver's door handle is first touch unlock driver door only, second touch unlock entire vehicle? I cannot figure out how to get it to expectation like pressing unlock would do (first press driver only, second press entire vehicle).
Would...
They aren't anything special. Our Chevy uses this style as well. Most replacement wipers these days come with the attachment parts for the swap. I know for a fact that the Michelins sold at Costco have them because that's what I change every 6-8mo on our vehicles
That's the exact kit I purchased.
They too skimped on providing the best face forward for your light bar.
Is it really so difficult for you to quickly design a uniform surround that has the necessary mounting points for the light and the grill but in color/material match to your unit? Doing so...
mixed emotion in seeing you've switched to 20" while sitting on an 18" bought in august and trying to figure out the fit for the tacoma heritage grille and filling in the side gaps, as well as that the screw lines are precisely on the cutout lips :-| :-(
