Where did you come up with that? If an auto maker's engines were blowing at 60,000 miles, who would buy?
I've changed my oil twice and can't imagine attempting to pre-fill the filter before installing it. In truth, I suspect once you add the oil, the filter is full.
I've had my Smartcap for 11,000 miles, and it's as dry as a bone. I didn't have a dealer install it–I did it myself. I'm convinced some dipshit did yours at the dealer and didn't know–or care–what he was doing.

For my Cali ditch lights (which came with the wiring harness and relay) I bought their switch and installed it in one of the blank spots so I would have a blue light on when the ditch lights were on.
I’ve got 11,000 miles and have changed oil twice. I’ve cleared the maintenance log on the instrument cluster after each and have done it a couple more times.
However, I keep getting this message:
“Oil maintenance required, visit your dealer.” Plus the miles over 10,000.
How do I clear it?
