This is the correct hardware that should have been used for the fan shroud:
Part number is 90119-A0105
I would be going back to who repaired the truck and requesting that they install the correct hardware.
I am talking about the hardware. It is likely just random hardware out of a hardware drawer. It isn't the OEM hardware. The one doing the repair likely needed hardware, it wasn't ordered and to do the repair they just went to a bin and pulled out a bolt that threaded in.
Even at my dealer, we...
This has nothing to do with recalls or any safety related concern regarding new vehicles. This is likely human error using incorrect hardware after a collision repair. Toyota themselves has nothing to do with that. That is a concern for that specific body shop/dealer.
Not sure if it is staying that way or if it was just a temporary thing because in a meeting the Toyota reps said they were doing that because of the spring compressor issue but now they are releasing a new compressor tool. Maybe just Tacomas are going to stay as individual pieces? In Canada we...
TRD lift kit should be coming off stop sale soon. New spring compressor part should be shipping to dealers in the States within the next month or so which means both the Tundra and Tacoma lifts will become available again as a dealer installed option and not just a factory installed option. I...
How difficult was it to adjust the aim of them once installed? Not really liking the performance of the AlphaRex double taps and I have been looking around for an alternative that is brighter.
One thing I have seen a few people mention is how the transmission "feels like a cvt" when it shifts under throttle and holds a specific RPM range when I would imagine that is just the transmission trying to stay within the torque curve for optimal acceleration. Or are there other factors at play?
Thats what I figured but I just wanted make sure. I saw it and kept thinking "where the hell would I even put this??" so I just wanted to be 100% sure I can just toss it before actually tossing it and then finding out I did need it.
Hmm interesting I will have to see if I can get Toyota to update their information then. Seeing its steel that means I have lost a few sales due to incorrect part description on our accessories catalogue.
I don't have one kicking around my dealer so I can't confirm exact material as I am just going off the accessory lookup description but I do have one on order so I can always put a magnet against it to see if its magnetic or not.
I would not bother doing a diff drop. It really isn't worth it in my opinion. Especially for lifts under 3". The worst that will happen is the needle bearing on the axle might start to make noise or cause vibrations which at that point I would recommend the ECGS bushing(Something that is...
Uhh that is kinda how tires are supposed to work in the snow. They pack snow in the tread to get better grip at low speed and use the sipes to evacuate water and slush while also providing an additional biting edge. But at higher speeds the snow should not remain stuck to the tire as the larger...
Y'know, I traded in my 2019 Civic Si to get away from a platform with turbo swaps and big power mods because its a rabbit hole that I am always too tempted to jump right into and yet here we are with one for the Tacoma 😅 Guess I know what I am going to be doing eventually
I am not sure if this would help or not but for those of you that have a 2 piece shaft, have you tried putting some spacers under the center bearing mount? I am curious if it is an angle issue and by slightly shifting the bearing down a bit, it could help correct any odd angles.
For those...
