  1. 1,000 mile road trip in a 2024 TRD Off-Road -- Impressions

I'm not really that surprised that the mileage sucks if you are averaging 85mph. That is much higher than the EPA testing, and the aerodynamic load at that speed is substantially higher than 70mph which is more in line with what I think TFL was typically doing in their video.
  2. Softek Seats - photos from my 2024 Tacoma TRD Off-Road

Those rear seats look a lot better than I had expected. Really nice to see!
  3. Snow & Mud Driving 2024 Tacoma TRD Off-Road Test - TFL Video

The 2024 manual doesn't seem to have this restriction, from what I can see. The only limitation is that you need to drop below 62mph to shift between 2HI and 4HI, but you can go up to 107mph in 4HI.
  4. Auto Stop/start ?

It really varies. My wife had a C300 and it was pretty seamless and didn't bother me. On her X1 it is brutal. It shuts off prematurely (before you're even completely stopped) and it's a DCT trans so when it starts back up, it takes a few seconds to get in gear and let the clutch out again. To...
  5. My 2024 Tacoma TRD OFFROAD is delivered (a month early)! -- Photos & Owners Review

No, long bed has more bed length ahead of the axle.
  6. My 2024 Tacoma DELIVERED! 🙌 My initial thoughts 💭 (Previous 3rd Gen Owner)

Ah I was looking at the order sheets from September and it is listed on even the base Sport. Didn't check the features list on the website because honestly they've got some errors on there so I find it hard to trust. Ah well. Guess we are all playing roulette when we order these things lol
  7. My 2024 Tacoma DELIVERED! 🙌 My initial thoughts 💭 (Previous 3rd Gen Owner)

Hmm according to the Canada ordering guide, it should have 400W outlet. If it's not in the bed of the truck, there may be one in the back seat.
  8. Full-Time 4WD?

It's always engaged, but uses a torsen center differential to allow different speeds between front and rear axles. You would expect it to impact mileage (although not much, really), but the Land Cruiser also has the same full time 4WD system and the initial mileage that Toyota published was very...
  9. My 2024 Tacoma TRD OFFROAD is delivered (a month early)! -- Photos & Owners Review

Oh man, those distributor installed options are brutal. I'm waiting for a hybrid, so I'm hoping my dealer can show me a copy of a bill of sale for a gas model in the near future so I can see what I'm up against on distributor and dealer options. Maybe I can avoid them if I know what to expect.
  10. My 2024 Tacoma TRD OFFROAD is delivered (a month early)! -- Photos & Owners Review

It seems like nearly all of the OR's delivered so far have the predator steps installed. Kind of funny considering most people actually off-roading them would probably remove those for more clearance haha. They look great, but I'm hoping mine doesn't have them. Supposedly the Canadian ones just...
  11. 2024 Tacoma Off-Road is impressive in TTC Hill Test (off road test review)

Wow that is kind of shocking, in a way. Figured it would be mandated haha. Anyway thanks for the response, and keep up the great video content!
  12. 4th Gen Tacoma Aftermarket / Vendors R&D thread

Sliders and lift kit from Westcott
  13. 2024 Tacoma Off-Road is impressive in TTC Hill Test (off road test review)

Thanks for joining the forum! I've seen a few people on here already asking about why your truck appeared to be missing the Auto Start/Stop button (next to the diff lock). Are you able to clarify if your truck has start/stop? Thanks!
  14. Underground 2024 Tacoma SR5 4x2 delivered to Classic Toyota Galveston, TX

They're 3" wider, but same length. Wheelbase and trackwidth are significantly greater than the 3rd gen.
  15. Anyone driven one yet?

Doug's perception is skewed. He drives a Carrera GT. He's not going to get into any truck and say "wow this thing really pulls hard" or "the handling on this is fantastic!" He usually drives quirky cars; seldom drives trucks.
  16. Hybrid vs Nonhybrid 2024 Tacoma

The rear brakes are larger on the hybrids as well. Not sure if they're changing out springs or not? But I think TFL's TRD Sport only has 1200lbs payload and I think the TH is supposed to be around 1600lbs, so if that's true, they're definitely increasing the GVWR by more than enough to cover the...
  17. Hybrid vs Nonhybrid 2024 Tacoma

Not sure what the US will offer, but in Canada, the only option for the hybrid Off Road is the Premium package. You can't get base options with hybrid. As such, you are still paying for the Softex, heated steering wheel, etc etc. But I value those things so that's the one I'm getting anyway. And...
  18. Card key style keyfob for 2024 Tacoma - first look!

Maybe Toyota has done a good job with their app, but on my wife's BMW, the digital key is not very reliable. If it works as it's supposed to, it will unlock as you approach and you can get in and drive as long as your phone is on you. But sometimes it doesn't work and you have to open the app to...
  19. Card key style keyfob for 2024 Tacoma - first look!

I'm not gonna try mine, but I'm 99% sure it is not waterproof. Some electronics inside and it's not sealed. Ziploc bag? Haha
  20. Updates of 2024 Tacomas on dealer lots (dealership, pricing, photos)

Even more limited in Canada. Pro, TH, Limited. My hybrid OR Premium will not have it. I'm ok not paying for that feature.
