Yeah that second one looks better than OEM... OEM loses the corners, this one definitely
That looks more useful than the OEM one. Why is OEM so angled? Those side edges cut away a lot of storage area...
I know nothing about engines. Ask me to change the oil in my car, and I’ll YouTube it, and probably take 4 times the normal time, with 40 times the amount of cuss words as the average Joe. I can build you a nice custom PC, wire every electronic in your house, home entertainment center, home...
When you decelerate, it revs the ICE to charge the battery. This engine braking makes the tach go crazy when it happens. Very loud. My guess is the Taco engine will be similar.
I think any efficiencies you get from only using the electric motor at low idles will be undone when you're braking the car (the regeneration revs the engine like crazy on my wife's Sienna). I'd love to see some testing around all of this.
If the new hybrids get more than 22mpg, it will be an...
Same here, buddy. I put money down in August also! Though I have a build date of May 14 for my Trailhunter. Hopefully you get your Pro date soon. It’s coming! 12 more days until we know how much it’s gonna cost us. I suspect the price will leak before then…
I was all over the site today and didn't see that. I tried the builder, the spec sheet page (which by the way, now includes the Trailhunter and the Pro) but the mpg on that says "coming soon".
NICE CATCH!
PS-the disclosure still says "estimated, not known at time of publishing"or words to that...
My wife has a hybrid Sienna. It has A LOT more off-the-line power than the older V6 it replaced. Comes in handy in certain situations.
I mean, that's one example.
She also gets 36+mpg on what is basically a mini bus that weighs 4,725 lbs. It is a 2.5L hybrid, vs. the 2.4L in the Taco, and...
On point number 1, I'm perplexed too, since they will be offering it (though admitedly limited) in the Taco. But the sales mix must not support it, which is why they did away with it years ago.
On point number 2, I agree that there's probably some model attrition within Toyota with all these...
I think the only differentiator will be luxury level; the 4R will be more basic, the LC more upscale. The new LC is a couple of inches longer than the current 4R, but I think the new 4R might be longer than the one it replaces. We will know more tonight when it's officially announced by Toyota.
The Trailhunter brothers!
Obviously, people who choose one over the other will do so mainly based on needs (SUV vs truck). I could go either way, as the functionality I'm looking for can be achieved by both, especially the off-roading capabilities.
Setting that aside, here's how I feel:
The...
From what I have read, I wouldn't expect more than 21mpg from the hybrid engine. Again, who knows.
On the price, I really don't know what to expect. If I were a betting man, I'd say the Pro and TH will be the same price: $60,960 before dealer/port-installed options and delivery.
How did I get...
Well… here’s what we know. I received a build date for my Trailhunter last week. It’s May 14. So they will be building them soon. I’m expecting a mid to late June delivery.
I put my deposit down back in August and was first in line for a hybrid.
I’ve read reports on here and other forums that...
I agree with you. I installed my own LED rear turn signals on my current car a few days after buying it new. They were the only lights on the car that weren’t LED. The problem with having to do this is that even though they’ve worked 99% of the time in the last 5 years, it will occasionally...
