Really like this color. I can see why Toyota’s marketing literature repeatedly shows the Trailhunter in Bronze Oxide. With the bronze accents (wheels and grille), the color matches perfectly.
Thanks for the photos. My wife and I will be excited to see in person this color coupled with the...
A fool and his money...
I've posted something similar before, but I'm sort of gobsmacked by premier Japanese brand dealerships -- think Honda and Toyota -- a) doing this, and b) doing this successfully.
If / when our deposited Trailhunter ever appears, we'll walk in a heartbeat if our dealer...
Saw these photos elsewhere for a TRD OR at Vandergriff Toyota in Arlington, TX. I live in the immediate area and have heard first-hand stories about outrageous sales practices at this dealer group for years. I’ve visited them a few times and always walked away needing a shower. So I’m hardly...
There’s been some discussion the new Tacoma lineup includes two “halo” trims, the TRD Pro and Trailhunter. I agree the Pro probably will sit at the top, but in sort of a 1a / 1b deal.
The pricing difference between the two will be small, particularly when comparing the TH with the optional 6’...
Well. That could be fun to watch. But I’m disappointed that of the dozen or so Trailhunters Toyota may actually build this year, another one got snatched away from me and given to a social media influencer.
Dunno about that. Toyota’s website still reads, “* Hybrid available Spring 2024.”
https://www.toyota.com/tacoma/
Considering said Spring is right around the corner, it shouldn't be long now before we see the announcement of… the USD $60K-plus Tacoma!
(BTW, not that it matters much, but my...
I have to say, I think Blue Crush is now my favorite Tacoma color. It’s got the right about of presence / “pop” that fits perfectly with the smaller truck.
It’s just a fun color. Love it — and love yours. Congratulations!
Yes. THIS.
If my wife and I decide to buy a Trailhunter that a) currently does not exist as a production vehicle, and b) may never actually be delivered to our dealer, it won’t be because we’ll overland it every day. Or week. Or month. Or possibly ever. We’d like a small truck; we’d prefer a...
This is helpful. I am hoping for a serious dose of torque at zero rpm right off the line, where all electric motors excel. Sounds like Toyota has tuned the Tacoma hybrid as I thought it should — lots of low-down, get-moving grunt, with the turbo kicking in later for top-end horsepower.
Thanks...
Yep. The Germans — specifically VW-Audi-Porsche — are quite adept at making spectacular centralized infotainment / navigation systems. They’re so responsive and elegant, they can often be a major selling point. (Considering the asking price of some of their cars, they should be.)
On many...
So that’s what Underground looks like in full winter sunlight. Much lighter than other photos I’ve seen. Reminds me of Audi’s Nardo Gray, but a hair darker. I like it a lot.
I totally understand. RAM interiors, particularly on uplevel models, have buttery real leather everywhere — including the dashboard; expensive-looking and -feeling wood trim; quality switchgear; air springs for a brilliant ride and self-leveling; and enough luxury appointments to make an...
Nope — the Trailhunter is lifted too. From Road & Track, May 2023:
“Like the Trailhunter, TRD Pro sits two-inches high up front and an inch and a half higher in the rear than the base Tacoma. The truck is also three inches wider than a base SR, which gives it a genuinely muscular and menacing...
I think you’re way optimistic, but I like where you’re heading. Too much weight and not enough horsepower for those numbers — at least for the 6’ Trailhunter that I’m interested in.
Thanks for the C&D link!
My wife and I put down a $1K refundable deposit on a Trailhunter or TRD Pro (TBD later) late last year. Just walked into the nearest Toyota dealer in South Dallas on a lark. Met with a young sales adviser, then asked to meet with the sales manager.
We made it clear what we wanted; that we were...
I second (or third) a seat-of-the-pants zero to 60.
We won't drive anything completely gutless. We're not looking for a TRX (obviously), but something in the mid seven-second range would feel about right for the iForce MAX, with a quarter-mile in the very low 15s. Even a little pickup truck...
Yes. My wife had a custom-order 2019 Cayenne Turbo that sat at the Port of Houston for 45 days back in November of 2018 while the EPA sat on its bloated rear end trying to finalize its approval.
This was right after VW Dieselgate, so the EPA may have been doing a little jab at VW-Porsche-Audi...
