Lets face it the manufacturers make automobiles to be obsolete as soon as possible. Why do you think your plopping down $1300 for a new washer, and another $900 or so for a new dryer every 4 or 5 years, or perhaps less in some cases. Granted, I'm not hating on my truck at all, but in Toyota's...
Yes, but that trans cooler in the bottom of the radiator (like on my '04 Xterra which liked to make strawberry milkshakes in those days cuz they didn't seal the transmission portion from the water of the radiator) is more passive to me -- I'd like to see an active cooler which has a fan, similar...
I'd be curious to know myself, but it appears to not have a trans-cooler. Again, I haven't been keeping up on stuff, but my last vehicle, '21 Silverado with the lovely self destructing 6.2 had the tow package, but no trans cooler. Prior to that a '20 Silverado with I-6 Baby Duramax, again with...
If I had to guess, it's likely the result of no transmission cooler. While I've not researched this first hand, I've noticed in the last 10 years of vehicle purchases that even though you'll have all of the "tow" upgrades selected, the manufacturers are not installing transmission coolers on...
Mine has both that rear brake thing, plus it's in in the range of VIN's regarding the Tranny swap out. But honestly mines been behaving fine sitting @ 16.5k miles now. I will take it in @ the 20K mark and pick up my 2nd free oil change, tire rotation, and have them fix the rear brake issue if...
Yea, I have that wheel one. Im honestly not interested in fixing it since I dont Offroad in mud. That said, I will take it in for the 20k second (free) service and let them remedy wheel issue.
I tend to run premium in my when on trips, although not required of course, but prefer it for some reason. That said, like most vehicles, wind, road surface (tire friction) are going to be the biggest detriments to fuel milage. I noticed this back in October when I did a 5K trip from the west to...
I think the frame stiffness, especially the amount of flex in the outgoing Tacoma, vs the new generation has been shown on a few videos on YouBoob as an fyi. In fact, from what I watched, the frame is quite strong. Fully boxed, vs C-Channel on the outgoing model.
Sure is funny how you lose your modivation, or perhaps change your perspective about certain things as you get older. I too think the truck is pretty solid as is as well! Certainly fits my lifestyle as it is at this point.
I'm having trouble trying to picture how a seat belt is coming in contact with your leg, meaning the side of your upper thigh, near your waist? Honestly I find the truck to be quite comfortable, and don't have any creature comfort complaints. I'm sure there's some kind of seat belt thing you a...
Unfortunately, our world today. Everyone trying to squeeze an extra 10th of a penny out of everything. Said another way everything is controlled by the accounts these days. Long gone are the days of good engineering practices. That said, over the past 30 years, massive changes have occurred in...
In my humble opinion, consider the following:
0W-20 is MORE than sufficient to protect your engine, and in fact if it will provide better protection than a heaver weight oil. I recommend you watch the following:
There are other videos on the subject, if you decide you want to watch more...
I thought I saw OTT mentioning in a recent article that they were going to release the tune with a hand-held device as well, is there any feedback on that? I personally don't relish the idea of going somewhere to get a tune installed. Guess I'm lazy that way.
Couple of comments, I just pushed 16K on my Taco, and I'd say that mine is feeling broken in by this point, but I want to provide a caveat to everyone in that engine break in is going to take much longer with synthetic oils than convention, so please keep that in mind. I'm also breaking in a...
Certainly looks like the alternator in my non hybrid OR! Since the hybrid system bolts in between the output of the engine, and input of the tranny, the motors are just built the same as non hybrids to simplify builds. Meaning you got the alternator. At least this is a guess on my part.
