Correct, my fuse panel eliminates the issue, or at least masks it.
I would think if your truck wasn't operating properly you would have all sorts of electrical problems, primarily things like the battery dying within a day or two.
I'm also using the IGN fuse to trigger my gang fuse panel, but when I turn off the truck the gang fuse panel completely shuts down and won't come back on until I manually power it back on so I don't have the problem.
I am surprised that your lights stay on though. Indefinitely or just more...
He's talking about something like this. It's just a way to tap into an existing circuit in the fuse box w/o having to cut or splice any wiring.
The issue we've all found is that the truck has some sort of logic that wakes up randomly to perform some routine and no matter which fuse you tap...
Nice write up! And, yeah, I love the Badlands winch. For the money I don't think it's possible to get a better unit, and this from someone who generally mocks all things HF.
I'm running a full skid plate package from Talons Garage, 1/4" aluminum w/ribs. They claim only 71 lbs (32 kg) for the package and that's probably accurate. I'm also running the CBI Super Stock Covert front bumper (read my thread on that BEFORE purchasing) and a 12k Harbor Freight Apex winch...
First, yes, this thread has turned out to be helpful to lots of people, mainly due to all the great input from others wrt their experiences!
Yes, the Timbren version you're looking at is what I purchased. My thoughts, I'd wait on them and upgrade the springs first and then only do the Timbrens...
You can estimate it yourself. Going to a 285/75 R17 increases your tire size by ~2.25" over stock, or about 1.125" taller at the axle. Westcott states 1.5" lift in front and .75" in the rear so overall you should be approximately 2 5/8" higher in the front and ~1 7/8" in the rear.
Real...
I recommend reading through this thread.
TLDR, there are getting to be more and more replacement springs on the market. If you're going to leave the weight on the truck more or less permanently then don't bother with air bags and whatnot, just upgrade the springs and be done with it...
If you read through any of the threads on fang lights and whatnot you'll find that's common to all the 4G Tacomas. The truck seems to have a wake-up routine every so often to purge the EVAP or something. Why all the circuits wake up is an open question. It seems inefficient and will...
That looks great (and a nice build overall)!
I wonder if ADD and Rago are owned by the same people. The install instructions are almost verbatim the same between the two, even using the same pictures. Even if they aren't the same company the instructions were certainly written by the same...
It will work fine. Looks like the difference between the F133* and the F103* is that the F133 is straight through whereas the F103 can have the output rotated. The thread pitch and everything is the same though. Either will work in our application.
Looks great! I'm curious as to how much it costs to do the sensor calibration since that then factors into the overall cost of the bumper/installation...
I assume that's the F103N with the long nipple. I bought the F103SX with the short nipple and that was a mistake. I wasn't aware there is a hose kit that is available so I'm going to buy that and hopefully that will make it easier to use but knowing what I know now the F103N would have been...
Interesting. According to the tire comparison site the 285/70r17 is 32.71" and the 255/75r17 is 32.06", or .65" (2%) smaller. The 255/80r17 I bought is 33.06" or .35" (1.1%) larger.
Honestly, you could very well be right. I'm sure individual tires can vary by manufacturer regardless what the...
This is an indispensable resource for determining different tire sizes. Just plug in different tire sizes and you can see how they compare. If nothing else you can go into the store armed with some information.
33" is the biggest that will fit under the truck so, for example, you could...
